Hmm, I read in a step by step in the Nav forum that the guy said it was a grey/black. I was at CC and they looked it up and also said grey black. I really hope it's grey black.

Now I need to find this opening by the master cylinder to get the nav and xm wires through. Any hints on this fellas?

It is under the carpet above the brake pedal.

Hmm, just saw this chris. I'll look from the inside and try and find it on the outside since the engine bay is so dark.

Should be by your feet behind the gas pedal, maybe you have to fold down the carpet a little to see it. Its a black round plug.

Yup, found it. It's a little ways up for the actual pedal part of the brake pedal. Mine already has a hole it in from the installer who did the Viper 791XV install. After passing my wires through I'll put some butyl rubber around the hole to seal it up.

IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE:

1. There are no screws to take off the wiper cowl (well you'll see one to take the passenger's side off, but you'll need to take the driver's side off to see it).
2. Do not pull straight up like I did or you'll break the rear retaining clips which are on the side near the glass. There is roughly 3 or 4 of them and they clip onto the metal. For an example. Turn your hand palm up. Then cup your fingers, so your finger tips are pointed at the sky and the palm of your hand is still in the "cup" position. This is how it retains onto a piece of metal, pull straight up and you break your fingers.
3. With the hood up you'll see what looks like 3 plastic breaks in the wiper cowl, these are tabs. Push these straight back and you'll release them.
4. Then rotate the front up and back down. This way you can release the "cups" from the metal without breaking them.
5. No matter what, you will break the round outside retaining plug that you can see when the wiper cowl is installed. (There is one on each end of the wiper cowl.

I'll be going to the dealer later today to see how much a replacement is.

one of those white plugs has a harness that comes off it and that harness has them on it.

With the "HOW TO" for the Z1 in the NAV forum and this thread you could easily do it yourself. with all this information it really helps.

Hey Guys,

So I really don't want to cut a hole in the center console bucket to fit the ipod connector through. It's kinda big, about an inch long and 1/4 inch wide.

I took the bucket apart into it's two halfs and am thinking about just putting the wire in between them and having it be pinched instead.

Do you think that would hurt it?

Cut a big hole then fill it in later. Or put it in your glove box.

I took pictures of it and I'll show you guys later. But I ened up taking the center bucket completely apart. Then I knotched the inside of one of the halves so the wire would have room to fit (I did this at the top that is tucked back so you can't even see it from inside the bucket). That way it won't pinch the wire and risk rubbing the white coating off and causing a short.

Then I sanded the cuts down and it looks perfectly OEM.

Steve,

Need your help. So two wires need to go into the blue and red OEM harness ILL wire. The one for the bypass and the one on the z1 harness.

Problem: I have two Blue and red ILL wires. One is on the outside and one is in the middle. Which one did you tap into?

You have two? It would really help if you could take a picture for me. Is it Light blue? I'm not meaning to insult your intelligence..it's just I can't tell right off the bat. Does it look anything like this...

Lol just make sure your shop knows what the crap they are doing. After a free installation...they snipped a wrong wire (hence the yellow twisty cap), installed the iPod, BT, and rear camera incorrectly...oh yea and they "lost" my P.I.E. adapter.
