Chrome A/C Registers (Outlets)

I want to up grade my F-150 "STX" with the chrome looking A/C Registers (A/C outlets). Anyone done this? And how do they come out? Are the A/C registers very expensive?
Thanks,
GNRR (A new 06 Ford owner)

I haven't seen any chrome ones but to take them out you just stick your finger in behind the slat and pull.

Well not really chrome but the chrome looking plastic ones. I have the black now unlike the XLT's with the better trim.
Thanks.

If your talking about the silver colored ones you can get those from the dealership. I'm pretty sure a few people on here have changed from silver to black or black to silver so maybe someone will have them laying around. Also check E-bay. But either way those are OEM.

You are talking about the four A/C vents (registers is probably correct, but just making sure)?

Lots of guys have changed them to and from all combinations.

I pulled my black on black ones out, and replaced them with chrome on Satin. Chrome on black, black rings on satin are the other two options. Easy to do, grasp them firmly and pull out.
You can also take them apart and mix and match the colors.
EBay sells a lot of them.

A set of four (4) usually go for $65+ on EBAY. The Lariat (chrome ring with satin face) are in higher demand. I'm pretty sure that any set will be more expensive at the stealership. I got lucky when I sold mine on EBAY ... got a good dollar for them.

Thanks for all you help. I will be looking on E-bay but what are you finding them under. all I ever see is the Euro-type tail lights and that sort of thing which I'm not really in to. Any hints what to put in the search?
As always thanks again for everyone's help I would like the chrome ring with the black vents if that's possible.

Those seem to be in the FX4 a lot. Try this string. You will get a lot of adds that you don't want, but it will catch poorly posted ones too.
One set of Lariat chrome and satin, one set of FX4 chrome with black right now.

+(f-150,f150) +(04,2004,05,2005,06,2006) (A/C, Vent, dash)

I tried to pull them up but some how it's not working. If you see them there can you give me the e-bay item number.
Thanks

The black with chrome ones is not up there this morning. I supect it had a buy it now or just ended. No big thing, they are posted almost all the time.

You can get the chrome and satin ones, swap the chrome to your black and sell the black with satin ones on ebay if you wanted.
Or wait a day or three, more will be coming.

Yea, I'm looking to swap my XL vents out for some black/chrome XLT vents. I have been and will continue to look for them on eBay.

Are the outer chrome rings sperate from the vents them selves? I like the black vents and would like just the chrome outer rings if they come that way. Maybe Ford?
Thanks

The rings and faces are a complete unit, but you can take them apart to mix/match. See https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=220331.

I use the following EBAY search:
+ford +(f-150,f150) +(vents,vent,ac,a/c)

Sometimes I'll add in the +(04,05,06,2004,2005,2006). But, too many sellers fail to put years in so I don't always require them for searches like this specific one. Good luck!

The only ones I see on there today (2006-04-12) are Lariat chrome/satin.

This seller almost always has a set on there.

I have an XL which had the black vents and black trim rings. I purchased a set of satin vents with chrome rings off eBay for $52.00. I put the chrome rings on my old black vents and thats what you see in the picture.

I then sold my old black trim rings and the satin vents for $46.00 on eBay. It is very easy to change these around.
