Please Help With Bouncing

Just bought an 06 screw and at 55-60 the back bed bounces noticeably not to mention you can feel it through the whole truck. The steering wheel also shakes pretty bad. It has the factory continental tires on it and only has 800 miles on it. Dealer practically refuses to replace tires. What could be causing this? What should I do? Love the truck just not the bouncing.
Thanks
Casey

How long ago did you buy it? Just return it.

Find out how long you have to return it, you might have 30 days. If you do, just get them to take that one back and replace it. Otherwise, they'll give you the run around until you can't return it and than you'll be really screwed. I dealt with the same problem for a LONG time and its something you don't want to go through. It was finally fixed but you don't want to go through it. Trust me! RUN!!!

Continental volutarily recalled certain tires on the F150 and some other vehicles. There is a TSB with all the details. The dealer should be able to pull it up for you. Sounds like your dealer was only interested in you before the $ale.

True, but it could be much more than tires.

Do you happen to know what the TSB was? Was there a number?

Thanks in advance,
Casey

What else do you think it might be Thumper? Any ideas?

It is at a speed of 55-60 and makes the whole back bed shake. It is to the point you can see it in the rear view mirror.

I had the same thing. .

My truck ended up with like 3 different sets of tires, they replaced a bunch of stuff in the front end, they rebuilt my transmission (and that made the most difference) rebuilt my rear end, new driveshaft, a BUNCH of stuff. But, keep in mind these new beds shake a little bit. Its just the way they're made but if its causing the whole truck to shake than its not right.

Heres my opinion but you need to do this ASAP. Tell your dealer to replace the tires or you want to return it. If it still doesn't fix the problem, tell them you don't want it. Im almost positive you have 30 days to return the truck.

30 days

Thumper,

Thanks for all your help.

Where would I go or who would I need to talk to to confirm that I have 30 days to do this? Obviously this dealer will not tell me that.
Thanks again,

It should be some where in your contract, I'll try to find out but it might be different for different states.

They put an entire brand new '06 drivetrain in mine back in January from the transfer case back and swapped the Continentals to a set of Michelin M/S tires. Mine still shakes after the truck has set a few days and the tires flat spot until they warm up and reshape. Ford really shot themselves in the foot with the super stiff frame and changing the geometry of the suspension. Every vibration that has probably always existed but never noticed in them is just magnified now.
