Did you have to return it to stock first?

Yes, the unit has to be returned to stock before you can update. See page 31 of the owners manual.

I'm downloading the update right now. Did the mpg show as one of the 4 displays or did you have to go in and change it?

I had to go and change it. It restore's the edge back to the way it was when you first get it. It lost my custom tune and background color. The mpg display is pretty cool, when your accelerating it drops to under 10 mpg then when your coasting it goes up to 40 to 50 mpg. It might help me to keep my foot out of it when I see 5 mpg.

Geez that was easy. I read this post about 10 minutes ago, and the truck is already reading mpg. Thanks for letting us know. Gotta go try this and the new exhaust out now.

This may sound like a dumb question, but I downloaded the lightning software, and when I go to do the updates it tells me that my edge is not sonnected, yet it is in the USB port.Does the edge have to be hooked up to the truck still and connected to the usb port at the same time? Just curious since it can't detect it. Do I have to intall a USB driver? Thanks guys.

How long did it take to install the update? I've been waiting for about 8 minutes now :o
(Cable internet 7Mbps)

Nevermind, I tried on a second computer and it worked. I hope nothing got screwed up when I tried it the first time.

I think it took less than 5 minutes for the software to download and install all of the updates.

The instantaneous MPG readout is an outstanding addition to this product. IMHO, the new functionality is proof that Edge really listens to its customers: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...89#post1962989

Edge Products deserves a and a !

BTW, the updates include a new calibration file. For those few folks that were having trouble loading the tunes, you owe it to yourself to give the new files a try.

You have to install the USB drivers twice. Click on Edge programs and then click on USB driver, you should have done this once but you need to do it twice. Then hook up your edge to the computer.

I just spoke to Edge Support. If you have the 0xf1 error and calibration RXAP9V5.HEX,
the update is still under construction and should be available by the end of the week.

Okay, Just drove the truck around for awhile. That mpg readout is pretty slick. It should help me keep my foot off the gas so much. Its really discouraging to see the mpg's at like 2.9, etc. Made me let off a bit.

One thing I did notice with the update is that after I got down the road a little, I noticed my truck was idling kinda rough, which it did not do before the update. I looked at the rpm's and now the truck was idling about a 100 or so rpms below it ever has. It was around 530-550 or so. Didn't dig the vibration so much, so I adjusted it up 125, and shes as smooth as glass again. This is one hell of a product. Its amazing what this thing will do along with the user ability it has. I will recommed this product to anyone.

Anybody else notice the lower idle after the update?
