Did the update earlier....went for a drive all seems good. My idle when warmed up is right at 600 rpm. Actually before the update my fast idle with level 2 on the edge was about 1800-1900 rpm, which was the only problem I was having. I was going to contact Edge tomorrow, but it looks like I don't need to anymore.........normal idle and fast idle are where there supposed to be after the update.

Mine was in the low-mid 500's so I upped it to around 600+. All good now.

I was reading the other post on the Edge and customer service. Seems I have the exact same problem as Mire7's friend. I can't understand why I had zero problems and only smiles before this damn update, and now I have a dead truck in the driveway.

Yes, I had returned it to stock before leaving work, got home with no problem.
It's not just returning the truck to stock, it's resetting the Edge unit itself to stock.

Did you read the directions?

Sounds like it's too late.

I think this will have to wait until I get the S-10 back on the road (dead Optima yellow top), so I can be sure I can get to work....

I think it's done more than that, somehow. Yes, I had read the directions and I've used the software and all before. It was this update that caused this, I'm certain.

The Lightning software does have an option under Utilities to Restore Evolution, but it asks for a key, which I have no idea what the key is. That's what I'm hoping the Edge tech's can help me with when I call them promptly at 8am. Thank goodness I'm in the same time zone as them.

Exactly my thought. The key could be programed to open up specific debug options that will allow you to do specific functions.. and allow you to use the stock.bin file to restore the PCM. If emergency restore is not an option they need to modifiy the firmware again. Knowing that I have that option would give me a warm feeling ....

Currently I only change the PCM code in my driveway so if there is a problem I won't need an immediate tow. Once we you have resolution I will make sure that I follow those rules. I work with computers and load code all the time and know when I flash those computers if anything goes wrong recovery is not straight forward.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop..

Jack

How about an update? I'd like to hear what the solution was!

(Cable internet 7Mbps)

Nevermind, I tried on a second computer and it worked. I hope nothing got screwed up when I tried it the first time.
It didn't take more than 30 seconds for each file to download. Then another 2-3 minutes to upload the new files.

Kinda funny watching the new mpg readout drop to 1-2 mpg when taking off from a stop.

I hear ya. I had to switch to another PID. The mpg was jumping around too much for my tastes. I also can't stand the rpm PID...due to the same problem.

I'm working with Edge still on this. I'm told they are building a stock writer program for me to use. I've given them my Hex code, and I hope to hear back from them soon. I will say, despite this problem, that their customer service has been pretty decent. If they get me up and running soon, I'll be very happy. I'll update here once I've got the cure.

I got it downloaded on my other computer. My girlfriends laptop is always jacked up.

I've already played with the MPG reading. I noticed when coasting it doesn't go higher then 50.0 MPG. Makes sense I guess since we can't coast forever and will never see anywhere close to that anyways.

I have to wonder why Asinatra has had so many problems with customer support. Things that make you go MMMMMM...............
