I just thought I'd throw this out there, I had my PCM reflashed today with the latest calibration and re-installed my Edge with no problems. .<---------------

WHY WOULD U NEED A REFLASH FROM THE DEALER THEN RE-INSTALL YOUR EGDE.I THOUGHT THESE TUNERS CORRECTED ALL THE FLASHING CONCERN AND LAG AND STUFF LIKE THAT.

Think of it as upgrading from windows98 to windowsxp. A newer pcm code might be what is needed if Edge didn't include it in their initial programming.

btw....all caps on forums means your shouting.

If you take your truck into the dealer you set the unit back to stock, that way if they dealer reflashes your truck it doesn't make your edge useless. There is also a recovery section on the software in case your truck doesn't start. At least that what I believe it is for.

Im done with edge. It is for sale because if i return it to TRP one of you guys is still going to get it. So I thought i might as well sell it to someone who wants it right now; cheaper and sooner than waiting on a BO list.

I moved *way* up to the SCT PRP, (Thank you BamaChips.com & JusnesModified.com)

. . because I wanted to know if the Edge would still work. I think the people who are having problems, might have defective units.

Thumper-
How old was your last reflash? Did you have many problems before getting the Edge?

I have never had any problems with my Edge. I can't even remember the last time I got a reflash, it was a long time ago when my transmission was rebuilt.

I bought my truck on december 23 (1 month ago), it was flashed that week for the tranny clunk. I installed the edge a week or so later and had no problems.

Put the edge on my wifes 5.4 screw and we love it, haven't been able to take it on a road trip yet to check mileage, but definately runs way stronger, and definately shifts better, still tryng to figure out how to turn the shift points down a bit, revs up to high for our everyday driving habits. Anybody know what the different shifting schedules are i think the options were 12, 24, 36pt???? Not sure it was a while ago i tried to mess with it. Anyhow love it, and would definately recommend it, can't wait until the make one for my new 06 dodge cummins

I think the first thing to do when you receive it is check for updates on the internet BEFORE you plug it into your truck. I was reading another thread where it now even has an update to give you miles per gallon? That is pretty cool. So what i'll do is hook it up to my computer and check for updates and Then place in my truck. Good thing about the unit is if you get reflashed it should not affect it. EDGE PRODUCTS said they were about 2 weeks behind the new recalibrations so unless you get a reflash from the dealer in the last couple of weeks you should not have any problems.

One question though. Reading through the instructions on their website I see that the TOW PERFORMANCE is described first as a performance tune for that octane AND work also as a towing tune. Is that correct? That's what I understood from their literature. Thanks

The level 2 tune adjusts engine performance and transmission performance. Level 2 is compatable for towing. Level 3 is high performance and is NOT for towing.

Thanks, that's the way i understood it but just in case I was wrong. It is very easy to mis-interpret something.
