Edge Issues

I see that Asinatra never got his issues with the Edge Evo and his PCM resolved. From the classifieds, looks like he has given up. Got me wondering if anyone out there with the 4.6L has gotten the Edge to work. I have yet to see any posts from anyone with the 4.6L that have the unit working.
So, is there anyone out there with the 4.6L that is using the Edge tuner with no issues? Also, how many of you with the 5.4L are having issues? Just thought it might be useful info for people looking to buy this tuner..... And I am just curious.

I contacted www.edgeproducts.com today at least 3 times with almost NO DELAY in response for tech support for the 5.4. They were courteous and knowledgeable about their product and were very helpful. So I ordered one today. In neither call did I wait longer than 3 minutes to be helped. I thought they would be pissed to hear from me again but I thought their service was great. People's idea of service differs sometimes and poor communication is USUALLY the problem. That, and putting people off and giving them the run-around. You can't sell ALL your products and NOT ONE of them be defective. Look at FORD. Not ALL the trucks are without their issues, so how can a tuner be any different. I was between the superchips 1745 and the Edge, and for the $$ extra bucks, the edge has SOOOOO much more versatility and usable funtions that the superchips cant touch. Superchips was $$$ shipped and Edge was $$$ shipped. For me it was a NO Brainer, and I'll take my chances. Good luck.

No problems with mine on my 5.4L3V. It's the best money I've spent on my truck so far.

No problems with mine. Funny thing is when I first installed it I really didn't notice that huge of a difference in performance, it drove better and the transmission shifting was improved but not a huge difference I thought. Until the other day, I put my truck back to stock to try a pull a code off a friends truck (didn't know if I had to but I did it anyway) after we finished I left without installing the tune. It was like driving a totally different truck, I thought it was just me but even my buddy made a comment about how it felt different. Edge definitely gets a couple

The edge unit is the best money I've spent on my truck and I've found that when I change from one tune to another it takes about half a tank before the new tune really shines. Adaptive learning. With the performance tune in, and half a tank later..it now lights up the rears from a stop with no braking. That is a feat...at 6800 above sea level and with the several hundred pounds I always have in the bed. In short, I couldn't be happier with the Edge with my 5.4.

Maybe i just got the "wrong" person at edge to work with. It is a chore to get a hold of him no matter what time of day it is.

Granted the edge never "tuned" my vehicle, but in all reality i needed something *better* than the edge. And that *better* is hopefully on the way any time now.

LOL. "better"? You have never even seen what the edge does and you're stating "better". An interesting way to do testing. Not exactly how the modern engineer handles comparisons, but Voodoo has been around alot longer than modern comparison techniques...so who are we to say it's wrong. Roll 'dem chicken bones and tell us what tune is best Obi-Wan!

I am also looking into the Edge Tuner... I do have one question, and I did a search, but did not find the answer.

My Truck was reflashed in the fall. Will the Edge still work out of the box or do I have to do something else first?

Thanks in advance guys...

Considering that over 70 of us have installed the EDGE with no problems, I would say go for it. The 3 or 4 that have had problems may be able to give you something more. Maybe if you compare flash codes, or e-mail EDGE with the code to insure it is included.

Good luck.

The only issues I am having now, is keeping my eyes on the road, instead of looking at the screen!!

The biggest issue is thinking of more excuses to drive the truck. I think I have been to Home Depot 20 times in the past couple of weeks, wife is happy to, now that things are getting done around the house!!
