Smeezy or any other Beta testers,
How does the moniter snap into the POD. Can it be removed fairly easy?

I have a question...
When looking through the 19 things this does I noticed everything is imperial. Do you have a metic version for the Canucks?

Generally these tunes make claims in the 3k+ range, but lower would be great. This would be with an of the levels 1-3.

Also, you mention that aftermarket mods will enhance. In an earlier post MSEmechanic mentioned that Edge "may even" provide adjustments for a particular mod, such as an AFE intake vs. Airaid, Gibson exhaust vs. Magnaflow. Is this in the future? Or is it on the "white board" for possible implementation?

I look forward to getting the evolution. Any helps, FAQ's, and support you can provide on your website for users will be much appreciated!

Merry Christmas :santa:
Yes, we greatly improve the truck's tuning in the lower RPM range. I was the engineer that handled talking with our Beta testers and every single one of them said two main things about this programmer... the throttle repsonse and the shifting. Our calibrations engineer has done a great job in both of these areas with his tuning. I don't know the specifics (shiftpoints, etc.) but I do know that all of our testers loved it. If you don't like it, you can adjust a lot of it yourself (shift points, WOT fuel, WOT shifting, and much more).
Our bases levels are designed for stock trucks. Our Beta testers have had a variety of trucks with modifications and they all loved this programmer. Some wanted the shifting to be firmer, while others didn't want it so firm. The great thing is that you can change it to your liking with just a couple pushs of a button. We might come out with downloadable tunes for certain modifications down the road. That is a great idea and if you desire them, please call into our tech support and tell them what you would like us to develop. They in turn could tell our management and if they get a lot of response for a certain thing, then it just might happen.
I hope this answers your questions.

We currently don't. Half of the code (for that capability) is written for the Evolution to display in metric, but we never finished it. Maybe some day we'll finish that. Look for updates on our website. One of the updates could just be that capability.

I'll try to paint a picture of the installation. First you should turn your truck's ignition into the ON position. Then you'll plug the Evolution's cable into the diagnostic port (located right above your right knee when you sit in the truck). It's a right angle cable, so it fits right on and you don't even notice it while you are driving. You can install it pretty much anywhere you choose, but we recommend to install it on the left side of the dashboard. The POD could be taped or velcroed to the dashboard. You snake the cable up through the dashboardup to the A-pillar. The cable will come out through the openning of the POD and you just plug the Evolution into the cable. The cable attaches to the Evolution in the back of it's casing. You just then push the Evolution into the POD and that's it. It shouldn't take more than 2 minutes to fully install.
I hope that wasn't too confusing. It all makes since in my head. If you have more questions, please ask!

When I get back to work (around Jan 3rd) I'll try to post up a manual.

Jay, That would be great. That way we could do our reading 'before' we install... Less calls to tech support.

Question:

I keep looking for more product info and download information on the EDGE website but I don't see it. So I assume that the software that comes with it will link up to a secret or hidden page or will something be active shortly.. ?

Im curious to understand this . . .

Most tuners you can change parameters but does the tuner have a max/min so that you cannot self destruct your motor? Im probally going to be leaving my tuner the way it comes from Edge but Im curious to understand this . . .

I understand that when I take the truck in for service I need to put it back in Stock Mode, but I was wondering if this will affect my warranty in any way?

is there a way to just hook the tuner up to get the readouts? my thought was to do the 60' times and 1/4 mile times in the stock configuration, get the data, then do the same in the 91 tune to see the difference....i believe there is a formula to plug in truck weight and the times to get hp and torque numbers....? i don't have access to a dyno and i was just curious. any thoughts? or do you have to plug in and download the program then switch to stock mode????? thanks.....

I guess I have a question also if anyone knows. Does the Edge power off when the key is off?? With other tuners, when you plug them in with the truck off, they still get power from that diagnostic port. Just wondering if there would be an issue of running down the battery if the cable is left plugged in all the time.

Ya, they are going to void your warranty, no questions asked.

Uh...no. Not only will they not do that, but they can't do that. IF they can reasonably prove that your mod directly CAUSES a failure they can refuse to fix THAT ONE problem under warranty. They can not simply flush your warranty due to a modification. I believe the law is called The Magnuson-Moss warranty act....or something resembling that.

That's the theory. The problem is, you have to deal with reality.
