They are not expecting the program to be changed so no one will be looking to deny you a claim.. Sort of 'Don't tell ... don't ask..' thing. This would be one of those things that I would not talk to the wrench about either cause he will remember next time when you do have issues.
If I was having a drive-ability issue I would work with EDGE first.. of course... if it was broke ..I mean hanging off a hook I would remove the mod before they towed it anywhere. Ya' just don't want to get into legal issues... they have more money than most of us.. an lawyers on permanent retainer...
My truck came with maintenance for the first 25K so you can be sure I will de-install every 5K. I would not want to give them any reason to even suspect that there was an electronic mod...

INSTALLING DRIVERS
IMPORTANT!!! Install drivers first before hooking up your Evolution
to a USB port.
After installing the main program, do the following:
1. Click on Start, All Programs, Edge Products, USB Drivers, and
finally Install USB Drivers.
2. Click the "Install" button.
3. Click "Continue" to skip any warning messages about the driver
not being certified.
4. Plug the Evolution into a USB port using the supplied cable.
5. Select "No, not at this time" when asked to search for drivers
on the web.
6. Select "Install drivers automatically (recommended)".
7. Click "Continue" to skip any warning messages about the driver
not being certified.
8. You may have to do steps 5 & 6 a second time (there are two drivers
being installed).
9. Your Evolution should now be ready.
-----------------------------------------
In order to get my Edge to work with my computer, I had to perform steps 1 through 7 twice. You will probably have to do the same.
I hope this helps!

With other tuners, when you plug them in with the truck off, they still get power from that diagnostic port. Just wondering if there would be an issue of running down the battery if the cable is left plugged in all the time.
Remember if you want to connect the edge to your pc you must first install the software by going to the link in the back of the manual. Then you must install the drivers. Then after you install the drivers you can hook the unit up to the usb port.
If you don't hook the edge up until after you follow the instructions above it will work the first time.
