Some would take asinatra's post as literal, so should we read things on here for fact or fiction? The sarcasm would've been fine with a little correct info after the joke. I understand a little leg pilling, but don't leave a bro hanging.

Think about all the BS they will give you if you want your spark plugs replaced.

Blah, Blah, Blah, Air fuel ratio, Tuner, Blah, Blah, Blah, broken spark plug in cylinder, Blah, Blah, Blah, Void Warranty, Blah, Blah, Blah, You're F()CK#D

The fact that you can put it back to the Ford program easily probably makes it a good idea to do on general principles. IMHO if you have any drive-ability or drive train issues I would not only unplug the OBDII connection I would take the unit off the dash.

They are not expecting the program to be changed so no one will be looking to deny you a claim.. Sort of 'Don't tell ... don't ask..' thing. This would be one of those things that I would not talk to the wrench about either cause he will remember next time when you do have issues.

If I was having a drive-ability issue I would work with EDGE first.. of course... if it was broke ..I mean hanging off a hook I would remove the mod before they towed it anywhere. Ya' just don't want to get into legal issues... they have more money than most of us.. an lawyers on permanent retainer...

My truck came with maintenance for the first 25K so you can be sure I will de-install every 5K. I would not want to give them any reason to even suspect that there was an electronic mod...

Transmission Shifts

I'm not too sure about one thing. Maybe someone can clear it up. I've read in a few different threads that firmer shifts will help prolong the life of your transmission. What exactly causes this?

I had the same problem, but I finally found a readme.txt file that helped. First, disconnect the Edge from your computer. Second, use the Control Panel to uninstall the Lightning software. Then reinstall the Lightning software and follow the steps below.

------------------------------------------
INSTALLING DRIVERS

IMPORTANT!!! Install drivers first before hooking up your Evolution
to a USB port.

After installing the main program, do the following:
1. Click on Start, All Programs, Edge Products, USB Drivers, and
finally Install USB Drivers.

2. Click the "Install" button.

3. Click "Continue" to skip any warning messages about the driver
not being certified.

4. Plug the Evolution into a USB port using the supplied cable.

5. Select "No, not at this time" when asked to search for drivers
on the web.

6. Select "Install drivers automatically (recommended)".

7. Click "Continue" to skip any warning messages about the driver
not being certified.

8. You may have to do steps 5 & 6 a second time (there are two drivers
being installed).

9. Your Evolution should now be ready.
-----------------------------------------

In order to get my Edge to work with my computer, I had to perform steps 1 through 7 twice. You will probably have to do the same.

I hope this helps!

Good job on reading the manual where it clearly states the software cd is not included but can be ordered for an additional fee. In the same spot it gives you an html link to download the software.

Sorry, my bad. Installed the unit, then left on a trip for the weekend. Didn't get a chance to go cover to cover on the manual.

Thanks.

The edge powers off after you turn the key off.

Remember if you want to connect the edge to your pc you must first install the software by going to the link in the back of the manual. Then you must install the drivers. Then after you install the drivers you can hook the unit up to the usb port.

If you don't hook the edge up until after you follow the instructions above it will work the first time.
