I barely received my autospring 2.5 this past Friday, I had ordered it just before this thread got started, prior to it everybody was saying how happy they were bla bla bla bla. Oh well. I have to take in my truck to the dealer for an a/c problem and a squeaking noise in the back of the truck when i go over speed bumps. After that ill get it installed and wish for the best.

Glad to help. I know you will like it. I'm liking mine more everyday. I think I would have get what some call a real lift before I dropped it back down to stock hieght. I will do that eventually, but for now, the spacers and a few scratches will do.

so, is there any company out there right now that will give me a suspension lift that will lift my truck an actual 3 or 4 inches. i know the rancho says 4 but it is really like 5.5, thats to big for me, 3 or 4 real inches would be perfect!

Somebody else mentioned in another post about a re-design of the autospring kit that fixed the clearance issues. Didn't mention how it was re-designed or intended to work. Unless it makes the top of the shock/coil lean in toward the motor i dont see how it can work. I'm going to e-mail AS right now and try to get some specifics. I'll let you know what i find out.

Re-design of our leveling kit.
Over the past few months I have received calls from members of this Forum about the issue of coil spring to control arm rubbing with any leveling kit installed. I,am here now to try and address this issue and give some insight into why some truck owners experience the rubbing and others don't, and what we have found is the cause and our solution.Just over two years ago we designed and began installing our leveling kits on test vehicles with stock tires and wheels in our local area. No contact with the control arm to coil was seen on our test trucks.
Only recently we learned about the rubbing issue from this forum and some of its members talking about it. We decided to figure out why some trucks rub and others don't. We have replaced numerous factory strut assemblys with Billsteins and threw the stockers in our scrap bin. Just recently we dug em out and cut them apart and found that not all strut shafts are exactly the same length and also the internal rubber dampers are of different thicknesses. We found the shaft lengths to be up to plus or minus 3/4 inch longer. Different manufacturers must be supplying the strut assemblys to Ford or quality isn't job one.
The longer strut shaft and thinner rubber damper allows the suspension to droop farther which is why some trucks have the rubbing issue and most don't. Larger than stock tires and wheels are heavier and also probably compress the rubber internal damper more allowing more downward travel at full suspension off-load.
Next time you go to your local Ford dealer. stand back and look at the pretty line of new F-150's. Notice they don't all sit at the same height in the front end. Coils supplied by different manufacturers tempered at different specs = different rates and ride heights for the same exact models and specs.The paint rubbing off the coil is only a cosmetic issue not a safety one. But we decided to be the first leveling kit manufacturer to address this issue by re-designing our kits. We now offset our kit so that it pulls the coil/strut assembly inward away from the control arm allowing for complete clearance of the coil at full off-load. We tested our new 2-1/2" kit on a 2005 F-150 Fx4 with 34" tires over severe washboard roads and found no rubbing at all

This forum is a very liquid market of potential buyers. I for one will now consider leveling off my F150 for new tires and rims in the spring when the roads no longer have salt on them.
I've preached for a long time that not all of the F150s have the same height in the front, even the same models (05 Lariat vs. 05 Lariat). For example my 05 Lariat is less than 1.5 inches different from the back to the front.
Again, good job addressing the issue proactively before your competition. That is how a company becomes an industry leader.

I for one was back and forth on leveling off my truck. Now that I have read your reply I have good faith in your company and will be ordering a 2" soon enough.

Just wanted to say that I had bought the 2.5" Autospring old version from Kevin about a month ago and got hit with all the rubbing issues so i hesitated on the installation , I called Kevin on Monday and asked him about his new off set version, he told me to send him the old ones and he would send me the new version, he was totally cool with it, luckily i never installed the first ones. He should be sending my new kit next week, cant wait. Like i said before just wanted to say that Kevin was totally cool with it.
