Hey guys, found a new aftermarket system that levels the truck, replaces the upper control arm, springs, and shocks. Looks like it does have limitations, truck has to be a 4X4, wheels must have 4.5" backspacing or less. Anyways, hope this helps some of you, and here's the link:

Damnit... I hate to be the pessimist here, but that upper control arm acomplishes nothing. What we really need is a drop for the lower control arm that corrects the lower control arm's angle when lifted, and a longer spindle to connect at the appropriate angle to the upper control arm. You can tell from the pics that while that aftermarket upper control arm looks stronger, it is still at an odd angle.

mslc1....if you have pics to post, the best thing to do is put them in your gallery and then link to them. Your truck looks sweet. I love the way it matches the boat..Hope you don't mind, but I'll post the pic for everyone else to see.

Hey guys, i have been communicating with Extremetrucktoys.. this was their response as to what it "could be"

At first glance I think
it may be do to the weight of the truck,
we did the proto type on a 4 door which is heaver and doesn't get as much
lift as a 2 door, that extra weight forces the front down .......,
we have had the lift on our truck which is a 4 door for will over a year and
can't see any interference at all
IMO it could make sense, i know many people havent reported a problem, is it mostly you all with two door trucks that are experiencing this???

Just to add, now that it's been a few days, it rides better than it did with the Auto Spring. When I originally put the Auto Spring on, I didn't sense any change in the ride. Now that it's off, I can tell you it's much smoother now than it was with the lift and it handles better. I'm getting used to it being off.

~sigh~ I have to agree Red Wing. I took my Daystar 2.5 kit off about three mos and 10k miles ago and it does ride and steer much better. I do miss the level look but the truck just seems "happier" without it.

lift

mine are staying on i just like the taller level stance and it feels like a different truck with em on i think its only a matter of time b4 someone makes a new knuckle that will correct the upper control arm angle. as for the cv joints i believe they can handle the increased angle

Are the problems mostly with the 4x4's? I have a 4x2 and my Daystar has been on for over a year, just checked everyting out today and found absolutly NO marks on my coils. So I'm keeping mine on.

2.5" Auto Spring

Keeping mine on as well.

Only marks I have on the coil spring are the result of the installation and jacking the truck up to where the upper ball joint resets/scuffs the coil (i.e. not hitting with everyday driving).

To prevent future scuffs, zip-tied a four inch piece of black vinyl tubing over the coil where the spindle was resting.

My lower control arm is also being slightly scrapped where the turn/wheel-stop nipple is. This is because the lower control arm is angled, leaving the turn-stop nipple higher than normal. Those with auto spring can observe this by putting vehicle in park and turning the wheel until stopped--your front end will bounce slightly. From what I can tell this will do no serious damage as it is just barely off center.

I agree with Red Wing Nut, front end is slightly stiffer with the auto spring.

Check out My Gallery for pics of my homemade coil spring guard and lower control arm scrap.

had the autospring 2.5 on for about 10k miles, i havent done any extreem off roading yet, but deff flexed the suspension out plently of times, as far as wear, i havent had any problems with the springs, i dont know how you guys are getting this, the only thing diffrent i noticed is when i turn it at full lock, it kinda doesnt want to lock all the way, almost feels like the steering work is having to bend some metel or something to get to the fully locked position, so usually i stay off of it. the only thing that i have noticed is there is a little black boot thingy, maybe on the spindle?????? that seemed to have worn a hole or something, i dont know, my mechanic said it wasnt a big deal, that was just there to help keep dirt out, it wont hurt it. anybody else with this problem, or is it one?

Same here... turning radius is much better also... no more grinding into the lower control arm when locking left or right. But I know nothing...
