Bye Bye Auto Spring

Took a quick look at my front suspension. I had the 2" Auto Spring. Never heard the control arm hitting the spring but I could see where it was. Didn't care for that. Took it to my buddy who put it on to have it taken off and have the blocks in the back taken off. He told me of a local place that might have the shorter u-bolts so I went there and the guy had a bunch of 'em laying around. Gave 'em to me. A couple hours later, no Auto Spring or rear lift blocks.

From what I've read and followed with this since I was a hop skip and jump away from doing it. It's both the autospring and others.

On my truck, it's not the upper control arm hitting the spring...it's the back side of the top of the spindle, right where the ball joint is.

The upper control arm makes contact with the coil spring at full droop. Any spacer that lifts the front over two inches will do the same thing. Don't know what the long term effects would be but I know it's taken the rubber coating off the spring where it made contact after about 6000 miles. Didn't like the thought of it so I had it removed. I really liked the way it looked too. Oh well.

So, do your aftermarket wheels and tires fit without the levelling kit and blocks?

What I was saying was..

My leveling kit was a temporary fix until I could afford the full suspension lift and now Im going to do the full suspension lift before my system because I had a look at them yesterday. The coils arn't looking too good, in some spots the actual spring is dented in and some other places the rubber coating is worn off. Does anyone know how much these coils cost?
