I just drilled into the metal tubing in the dash. It was metal, I'm sure it's ground somewhere... maybe. I used the same tap to ground my KC lights as well.

Sirius install

Great job and it shure made me feel more comfortable about doing an install since I know so little about satellite radio.

But at least I can tell the Circuit City guy that I don't need a FM modulator as he insisted and looked at me is if I was speaking a different tongue when I mentioned the PIE adapter.

My question is what kind of adapter did you use to mount the Sirius and where can I obtain one.

I like your location of the unit and where you made the slot for the wires.

One more thing. My dash is a little different than yours, my F150 is an 05 and does not have the little compartment below the radio. Does the face plate on the radio--the fake wood--just pop out is their a trick to get it off.

Thanks again

A note of thanks,

Dzervit,
Just a note of thanks: I just finished installing my PIE with a Clarion Calypso, and "borrowed" your idea of the splitters. Now I have the extra cable for the MP3 player, and does that make things easier. With your pics, I only had to make two trips for parts rather than my normal 5 or 6 trips......

The only downside is now the wife wants the same for her Windstar......Oh well, no such thing as a free lunch.

Woof

Bowser

PS: For some reason, my 05 did not have that extra harness, but still was not a problem finding a hot.

Sounds like it....Radio Shack has everything you need other than the P.I.E.

They're no longer hosted where he linked the pics...

In short, contact the thread author... it's not on this end.

Don't hold your breath on the pics....

DZervit has taken a personal hiatus from the site. I'm not sure when he'll be back although, I have talked with him via email.

It's a pretty simple install overall though guys... you only have to connect two wires and the rest is self-explanatory. Those two wires are a 'hot' and a ground.
