If you kept your truck for more than a year or two you might understand the concept of all the modifications you see all over this board. Let's go back more than 10 years, I personally would love to have a 60's series F150 slammed with 20's on it. Is that possibe with a Toyota or Nissan truck? I think not. You should make a friend that owns a Nissan dealership as your mouth is supercharged and spewing rice all over this forum. Do us all a favor and sell your F150 to someone who wants it!!!!!
Wow that is a brilliant idea, spend $6,000 to increase the value of your truck by $1,000. When is the last time you saw anyone get near the original cost if any at all for aftermarket parts on their vehicle when they sell it? I have modified my truck as well, however I have accepted that is money thrown out the window. Did you see me knock Ford Man Dan for doing the supercharger? No I told him good for him as he only needs to make himself happy nobody else!! However I was originally playing devils advocate to some of the Darwin Award participants of the board by pointing out that some of you are brand loyal to the point of ignorance as shown in this thread whether it is in regards to the actual truck brand or the mods such as tuner, supercharger, cai, exhaust, etc. There are a LOT of good brands and options out there, if we all liked the same thing life would be pretty boring hey? As far as me spewing rice all over the board I have backed my points up………what have you spewed aside from your opinion and a lot of verbal diarrhea.

Yep, I said YUPPIE. The CO front range is full of them.
Heh if you read what I was saying the first reason I mentioned for buying my truck was due to its “short term looks and comfort". In other words I purchased it because I liked those factors about the truck compared to the competition at that point in time, who knows next year I may like another brand more so. The “Ugly Girl” analogy was referring to my opinion of what’s the point of adding a supercharger to a slow heavy truck…………when all said and done in the big picture you still have a slow heavy truck!

Congrats on the SCer, much luck and many burn-outs. I saw your vid and it was deffinately cool(too bad I dont have a speaker on my computer)

What the heck does "short term looks and comfort" mean?

I am not "Brand Loyal" I am an enthusiast. Anything with a motor any year any Brand, heck I have a CRF50 Mini Motard and a Nitro RC truck. Its all about burnin fuel (and the smell of it, of course ). You should see me when I hear a rumble coming down the street, I jump around to see what it is. Some people say I'm sick, I just love Cars/Trucks/Bikes you get the picture. Enough of me rambling.

Congrats again on the new SCer

Short term looks and comfort = what I liked the day I bought it, tomorrow may be different! I like your enthusiast definition and not being brand loyal to fault..........my point as well!!

Why buy a new vehicle at all then? Drive it off the lot, lose half the value - end of discussion...nice hijack osama...

Why buy new? Well I suppose so you have piece of mind of reliability, warranty. Most importantly knowing the history of the vehicle and ensuring some clown with his buddies, a case of beer, and the mechanical aptitude of Paris Hilton didn’t try to put a supercharger on in his own garage and drive the crap out of it.

Tony

P.S. I am not implying anyone in this thread put their own supercharger on or resemble the above description just generalizing.

thats funny, and very true.

EDIT: Sorry, all the OT postings had me forgetting. CONGRATS on the blower whine sounds niiiice!

For the record the Titan is ONLY available in King Cab or Crew Cab so dismiss the standard cab comment . and there are a quite few guys doing 14's NA with slips none use chips as they don't gain much, one with a 50shot does 13's. I'm waiting to see if the TruTrac is alot better for the rear end or will the bolt be shearing or pin falling out keep killing rearends on the titans. If not the turbo one's will be faster. later

Sick05,
I am glad I am not the only one. This guy across the street owns a pretty sick Mustang with an off-road exhaust that sounds frickin awesome. Every time he leaves his house he gets on it and I tell my wife "he did that for me" I love the sound of a tuned exhaust. Especailly on a Mustang. Its fun being a sicko, life is good .

Tony2,
1. gatcha on the short term looks and comfort
2. thats what being an enthusiast is all about my friend

Later Fellas

With the exception of some REAL track numbers and a nice video, this thread is completely useless. Out of 8 pages thus far, I've never seen someone abandon their own thread so quickly. Am I new here? Yeah... Am I new to going fast or message boards? Not a chance.

Minus the complete BS -- comparing a blown F150 to a Titan, debating which power adder is best, discussing resale of cars/trucks/suv's, etc -- this is EXACTLY the thread I was looking for... being someone who is seriously thinking about installing a Roush blower.

Dan (if you're still reading your own thread), thanks for the numbers & the video. Those are some great improvements and I'd be happy to see the same thing. However, I live next to the beach

Now 15sec or even a 14sec 1/4mi supercharged truck is good, some day soon around january, I might pick up one, vortech most likely. But you do have to admit though that running a 14.9sec @91.4MPH 1/4mi Supercharged supercab truck is't to impressive, now im only comparing that to a crewcab titan that runs a 15.32 1/4mi @90.44 stock. Which means all the titan needs is a tuner and they can keep up or beat a supercharged F-150. Don't get me wrong, Ill never own a titan.........unless they can get 40 MPG um.........ahh maybe not.
It's all about the set-up as I have said before. Take the lightest Titan @5019lbs curb weight with the deepest gears (3.36) and the 5.6L vs. A RCSB F-150 w/ 5.4L 3 valve at 4925lbs and 3.73 gears and you have an even match. I know because I raced one several times.

Here is a video of me at the track pulling some very low 9's in the 1/8ET with SPIN. No boost...all NA. There are alot of other people there...I am running my buddy in his Orange Mach 1. He does his burnout and then we run em. He is running an 8.49@85mph vs. My best of 9.10@76mph that night on a crappy 60ft. He was running BFG drag radials and he has the X-cal 1 tune and a true dual exhaust with H-pipe. 305HP to the wheels on that Mach 1.

You all can do the math on 1/8 to 1/4 mile conversion. Another fact, I broke 8's on my G-tech quite a few times and the G-tech matched the track slip to the tenth except for trap speeds.

http://media.putfile.com/EC_11-4-05/wide

The other cars in the video are my friends and part of gulfcoastmuscle.org. Check out the forum if anybody doubts my times. The Lightning owner is Casey and he ran a 6.94@100mph that night. The Cobra owner is in the high 7's. It was about 75 degrees and 80% humidity that night.

Nice post HELLBOUND, always nice to see stuff like that. Who won in the race between the charger (?) & Camaro. Looked like the charger jumped the gun a little bit. but lost it at the end. Hard to tell.
Anyway, thanks for the afternoon entertainment.

The Chebby won. That Charger was running some crap times honestly. His traps were high, but he was busting out some low 9's. Same as I was.

Who gives a crap which truck goes how fast. If someone is buying a truck to race the quarter he is a goon. A complete waste in my opinion. Trucks are meant to haul and work.

The Titan isn't built as well as the F150, fact. No truck is. Period.

Props to fordmandan. He has made the ultimate work truck. And it's his. Everyone else can keep dreaming.

Ummm...your a jack***. "Trucks er only meant for Haulin'.....ya'lls a bunch of fools".

Yeah, tell that to:

Dodge SRT-10
Ford Lightning
Silverado SS

Ummm...you do realize they have NASCAR trucks...right?

I can keep dreaming. Does YER truck have any of those power window things? Hows about a CD player? Or one of dem dang reclining lumbar seats?

I am sure it does. All so you can relax luxury style in your truck that is only meant for hauling.

I just love the ignorant comments. BTW, the Ford Lightning outruns most stock domestic muscle cars on the road...and it can haul and do work just like the rest...ONLY BETTER.

One more thing...my "slang" inclinations werent meant to say you are stupid. However, that comment you posted...was.

Anything can be fast...anything. You can get any truck to run and outrun alot of cars and sometimes it's cheaper because of the TQ levels and gearing that trucks come equipped with from the factory.

Nothing like out running a Camaro SS and pulling in for a couple sheets of plywood....then doing it again after you are loaded up.

To each their own brother, no need to throw out the ignorant put downs.

Ford Man Dan, if you install 4.56 gears on yor truck you will lower your 1/4 mile time at least 1 second and your burn outs will be a lot stronger. You will love the gear swap dude.
