You doing a retro fit? (ie. changing the headlamps to projectors, or changing the reflector) Or are you just throwing those in your stock reflectors? Either way, lets see the pattern they throw. I'm interested in seeing how our halogen reflectors handle an HID bulb.

Looks like a lot of glare. I don't think you would get away with them for long in the US.

Please take some pictures 20 ft away from a light colored wall and show us the beam cuttoff.

Also please take some shots of a dark road lit with these bulbs.

Wow the glare on that 5600K HID bulb is really really bad. So it's affirmative, you can't just throw in HID rebased bulbs into the stock halogen F150 headlamp. Now we just need to find a way to get projectors to look good in there.

The projector headlamps that they sell, just look kinda funny. I wonder how it would look if you took one of the Harley Davidson type headlamps and retro fitted a projector into. Much like someone did on a white F150 except they were regular headlamps and not the black harley davidsons. But then take a blacked out chrome piece from the side of the projector to the top edge of the chrome reflector. Completely covering up the chrome reflector for a more finished look.

Hey Torresu,

Those are reflector and not projector bulbs right? Geese man thats a lot of glare on your HIDs. You still don't have those in do you?

While I'm glad someone has really started dredging into seeing how this can work, I see one big problem with the look; glare.

Hopefully it's an optical illusion with the picture but, I've got a hunch that it might not be.

This is why the NHTSB outlawed add-on HID kits.

Geese RP haven't heard from you in awhile...thought you took a vacation or something....or just waxing the truck for a long time!

Yeah I'm thinking that is really really really bad glare. He could take the reflector out of the stock headlamp and replace it with one off an HID reflector car. The only problem is you won't have high beams. I'm thinking the best option is taking harley davidson headlamps and retro fitting in a projector off a BMW. Then taking a painted black piece of the stuff that makes the wall of the light housing and covering the edge of the projector to the edge of the chrome reflector.

Remeber the HID retro someone did on the white F150? He did a great job, just looked too funky leaving the chrome reflector still showing. Cover that up and you've got a clean single style projector HID. This keeps you from having to do those headlamp replacement projectors that for some reason look weird on our trucks.

Ouch man that really sucks....yeah I had a 60 hour work week last week and I thought I was going to go crazy. I can't imagine doing 80+....60 was way too much for me. Hope you're recouperated though and that all is going well.
