Stalling
I'm sorry, I didnt get the number but I did get a call today from my dealer saying that they have 4 other trucks in right now with the same complaint and a Ford engineer is coming by on Monday morning to look at them and remap the computers. A benefit of living near headquarters, I guess.
Yours still good?

took my FX4 out to get gas up (before Hurricane Jean hits Central Florida) when I got home from work, all was well until I started up my truck and let it idle for a minute after gasing up at the station, then it stalled! The truck had not moved an inch, Im really getting to the point that I may have to ask my Ford Rep's to buy my truck back? There is a real safety issue here, and I am loosing confidence in this truck, I drive 36 miles round trip daily. I don't feel like worring about when is it going to stall next? I suppose I will have to have my Driveability tech hook up the "Flight Recorder" so that I can monitor and record the next stall event. Stay tuned folks!
Maybe this will help, I also drive my truck long distances 70Mi round trip in Congested I-55 Traffic (Chicagoland) Rush hour traffic.,Stop and Go On the Interstate.. a very dangerous condition having the vehicle die and not start /and when it starts not hold an idle then having to nurse it to the dealership..Here is the concern and parts list hope this helps...

Thanks for the additional info. My trucks will refire, (to a very good idle), and without having to turn the key to the "off" position. I also have zero codes. I still think I need to hook up our flight recorder to capture a stall event. Maybe in the next few days, Ford will release a calibration update to address this issue?
Just brought my truck home from the dealer yesterday, and just after 100 kms of driving I stop at a light and it stalled. Today I have done twice the mileage and no stalls so far, under the same if not hotter temps and longer distances.
Should I be concerned?

vehicle is beginning to stall more on a daily basis, It will be at least Wednesday before my Techs can install the Flight Recorder to capture a stall event, but there is no way to be certain that any data will show up?

My truck is also stalling on a daily basis now.
I took it to the dealer and they could not get it to stall. I forgot to mention to turn the A/C off. When they did, it stalled just sitting there idling. They found no codes, and tried to reflash the PCM but it already has all current updates due to a build date of 07/2004.
Tomorrow the truck goes back with a printout of this post to maybe help shed some light on the problem.

Mine's been sitting at the dealership all day along with 3 others with the same problem and similar build dates. Mine's an FX4 and was built 8/16 in KC. Since the mechanics couldn't figure anything out last time I took it in, a Ford engineer came out this morning to take a looksee but couldn't get any of them to show any codes, either. Another round of engineers was scheduled to come out at 1:30 but I never heard anything more. Guess I won't know until tomorrow. (If I'm lucky.)
Are your build dates around the same as mine?

My Driveability Tech down loaded parameters into my PCM and hook up our Flight Recorder Yesterday. (Monday) I was able to record two stall events, and two Idle rolls (before stalls). I will have my Tech down load this data into our WDS and see what we find? I will pass along any and all info that I recieve, My FSE will also report to the Ford Tech Hotline our findings as well to assist other FSE's around the country. I now know how my customer feel when they come into my Dealership with issues of this type, I think the stalling issues on my FX4 will help me better help my customers in the future.
As of this morning, The Hotline has told us to check the "Fuel Vapor Management Valve", after that , we are going to replace the PCM, which was the other recommendation from the Hotline, This will be the last repair attempt on this truck! ( the flight recorder did not record any of my stalling events?, I seam to have little if any luck in finding the root cause of my issues) stay tuned because I have made this my mission to find the problem!
