Seat Belt Alarm

Some guys in the past here has talked about deprogramming the alarm.... I'm happy I didn't get around to it...

That annoying seatbelt buzzer saved me a ticket last week. My last truck didn't have one, and when running small trips to the store etc. I usually "forgot" to put on the seatbelt. Now, I always put it on due to the alarm....sure enough, I came around the corner and there was the cop with a roadblock just checking seatbelts (as if they don't have anything better to do)...

More importantly, with the "saved" money I can justify to the wife add-ons to the truck...

Thats a true statement. I even put it on just to back up to the trailer out of habit not thinking.

It's a really good habit to get started.

It's a force of habit for me now. I always wear my seatbelt. Though, here in Wisconsin, the poo-lice cannot pull you over for just a seat belt violation. They have to have another reason to stop you first, then they can add the seat belt violation onto the ticket if you're not wearing one.

Same here in Virginia.
It makes sense or everyone who owns a car made in the Sixties with lapbelts only would get pulled over all the time.

The 1960 Plymouth I took my drivers test in didn't have any belts, they were an option back then.

Not to be a thread-hijacker here, but am I the only one who thinks those lame 'click it or ticket' laws are a crock of sheet? Since when is it big bro's duty to tell us that we HAVE to protect ourselve?! Then last night I hear a story on the news that the hippies in CA are talking about making it a law that you must be over 18 to go to the TANNER... they figure that the exposure to UV rays are just as harmful as booze and cigs to kids, so let's make it a law to save the children!! WTF?! What's next, a law that states I have to lock my doors when in the vehicle to protect from car jackers? Or a ban on sunglasses that don't offer UV protective lenses?! Stop the insanity!!!.

whew... don't get me wrong, I buckle up every time, but it irks me when I'm told "You have to buckle up, it's the LAW". Bite me you $*$%)@ safety *****!!! The man's not gonna hold me down!!!

As was stated, you can't be harrassed by the man for just a seatbelt violation.

The exception is the driver that has a four year old standing up in the front seat and jumping around. We have all seen that and the state has seen fit to protect the child from the reckless endangerment of the parent/guardian.

In VA, passengers over 16 are given their own $50 ticket, under 16 the driver pays.

Here in MI and many other states, they CAN and WILL pull you over for NOTHING other than to give you ticket for not having your seat belt on. BS!

If a parent is dumb enough to not buckle themselves or their kid up, then I hope they do crash into something and that part of the gene pool is wiped out... they shouldn't be breeding anyway.

I for one am for them.

BUT! With that being said, it's just dumb not to wear one anyway. Of course, this is just my opinion.

I handle auto claims for a living...

EDIT: Hell, nevermind. I don't want to open that can of worms.
