This build is awesome!!! Your interior looks great! I want to eventually get a beat up pickup for cheap that i can piece together and restore a little bit.

Thats pretty impressive how you got the 4x4 shifter to work with the console. I know a guy that tried the console and gave up when the saw the shifter wouldnt fit around it.

this took 4 hours!!!! after patching all the rust holes in the back i could finally add some fabric to the back and then finally add the seats and bolt them down, they also still fold forward too

its been awile since i have posted some new pics of work being done but to catch you all up i am in the process of replacing the passenger side manifold, due to it being welded and also due to it having holes in it, luckily we didnt break any studs off inside the head and it didnt take us very long to get everything ready, now just waiting on a new manifold

Remarkable amount of rust. What part of the country are you in?

I too have been working on a $1000 truck.

ok so i just wanted to give an update, passenger side exhaust manifold is all bolted up and the transmission tube had two holes in it, since i didnt have a replacement and the 4.6l tranny tubes are different i had to fill the holes with gorrila glue and it seems to be working, i also had to remove the broken bolt from the tranny tube mount, now the tube doesnt flop around anymore and is solid. pics will come of that later

I also had a continous battery light come on so i had to replace the alternator with one from a 2000 expedition, the alternator was a little larger but it worked. i also have a misfire, so i am currently taking out all the cop's and replacing them along with the plugs
Also, the furthest back cop on the passengerside had antifreeze in the plug hole so everyone knows where that is coming from, yup the heater core houses so i have to wrap them up, instead of replacing them
I also did not have 4wd so i replaced the two solenoids and now the 4wd works, so lots and lots of stuff done on this truck and more to come
