There's actually a comfortable amount of room between them, plus they still have enough room to fold down, thanks for all the replies, what is the cheapest color to paint a truck? The paint is in really bad condition and I just want an entire re-spray, is white the cheapest?

It is interesting that the truck had cloth interior. The sales brochure for 98 list leather as std on Lariat. Mine had it. Of course there are always oddities. Some how my 98 Lariat was ordered with off road package and the 16" wheels. I saw a copy of the original Window sticker showing it.

Yeah that is weird, 16 inch with off road package, mine was a little scarce on the interior side, with cloth and manual 4wd, but on the outside it came with 17's and off road skid plates, and 5.4, and signal mirrors

Rear bumper is installed, cost 40 bucks and has holes in it but all I could afford for now, I repaired the rocker panels on each side and used blow up in solution to fill the holes, also installed an overhead console, pics to follow soon

its been awile since i have posted some pictures but i have the truck on the road now with no issues except for a P0401, cleaned the intake and replaced the module that measures flow and it fixed it, idles alot better now and has better takeoff after i cleaned the intake, also i patched up the hole that was under my 4wd shifter with a boot that i got off a 1995 ford f150 4wd lever, was sick of my shoe warming up to about 100, i also replaced both rocker panels with some metal i had, and then i sealed it up with some spray foam insolation, next up is changing the transmission fluid and undercoating the rocker panels, bottom half and fender flares

Hey, love this project, just picked up a 97 4x4 myself, runs great, but quite a bit of body rust, can't wait until I can dig into it and start working on both it and my 01 Dakota. Looking good man!
