I'm having trouble taking the plastic crap out of the holes that hold the wires up.

Nevermind I took a hammer and pried them put.

Also, I'm trying to get my new hood on, and the screw don't seem to be catching, and 1/4 down there is a backing in the hole, so it wont let the screws go down any further. Check for yourself:

So, now I'm just waiting on some advice, so I placed the hood on to see what it'll look like. When I went to shut the hood, I noticed it is very flimsy, so hopefully that wont help the paint chip/crack.

The hood doesn't cover the whole engine compartment like the factory hood does.

it looks to me like your OEM bolts might be too long for that hood, as in, if you tried to forcefully screw them in they might break through the top of the hood! YIKES

ha, but i cant tell you for sure, id have to look at it in person or something.

also, aftermarket hoods dont always fit 100% perfect.
some of that gap might be because the hood is slightly misaligned, or it could be that it just isnt as wide as the factory one.

the body shop could probably add some more fiberglass onto the edges if they wanted too.

honestly i wouldve just let the body shop put the new hood on since the truck has to go there anyways

Well, I wanted to make sure it fitted, and told my wife might as well just leave the hood on if it does. Since it was annoying to take the stock hood off. I'll let them mess it up, ha.

Thanks, I can't wait to get it painted. I also noticed, there is no way to relocate these washers underneath, unless I just don't know what I'm doing.

Yeah, that's the writeup I followed on my squirters. I went to autozone to get the extra hose needed to run to the wiper arms. And if you have a junk yard nearby, just go there to get the squirters. I pulled some off of a malibu. I know the people here at my local junk yard and they just gave them to me - you might get lucky enough for the same results
You might even be able to pull some of the hose off a donor car/truck in the yard.

Thanks 1clean42, I'll check it out, because the junk yards around here suck. I'm taking the wife to the aquarium which is a few hours away, so maybe we'll run into one on the way. What year's should I look for?

Here are some mock up images for the truck. Wife wants all red, and I want the black in the middle.

Edit: Mom and step dad agree with me on the hood!

I think the squirters you're looking for should be on plenty of different year models. I think it was like a '99 malibu or so. I know they come on the silverados for several years too.

I like the all red. I'm not sure the lines on the hood are sharp enough for the two-tone.

I hope so, just makes it more me. I'll check for the Chevy's on Monday when I take the truck in, if I don't run into a junk yard on our little trip.

Yeah, I can't wait! If the shop can't do the middle black, then I'll just deal with it.
