How many miles do you go on a oil change with synthetic?

better flowing on cold starts is the best reason, extended oil change intervals on some. As for the protecting your engine better claim..yes its true BUT will the average daily drivers engine even need it? Some say yes. I run it for peice of mind and you can never be TOO protected. Its kind of like double bagging it

i really just like the extended change intervals since i dont hit 3000k in 3months all the time. on my current oil i think im going to go to around 7500 miles but after that with royal purple itll be about 10K

10-15K sounds wonderful! Definitely going with Royal Purple next time. So far have been using Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic and I thought that that was good.

most synthetics say 10-15K but id rather not take my chances. the mobil one i have now says 15K but im only gonna do about 7500 just to be safe and its almost been 6 months.

I run mobil1 and change it twice a year.. but I barely do about 8k miles a year. In my mind, 10k and 15k oil changes would seem like it would be stretching it.. even if the oil is capable of lasting that long, what about the filter? If the filter is only supposed to last 5k miles then what happens after that? I dunno if its much of an argument, but I would imagine it's something to think about..

My truck runs pretty smooth on mobil1, and it's cheap enough from Wal-Mart.. 99% of my driving is stop and go, short trip, city driving.. so I figured it wouldn't hurt to throw in some synthetic over the regular/blended oils..

its all personal preference. i ran motorcraft for the first 18K when the engine was under warranty and ive only done one change so far with synthetic. cost almost 50 bucks and im gonna run it 2-2 1/2 times the length of the motorcraft so the savings are great its just preference.
