Spark Plug issues

I have gone through 4 sets of spark plugs in less than one year. From being bad right out of the box to only lasting a couple of months. I am buying the right plug according to all the specifications but, there has to be something better.

Can anyone with similar issues recommend a single piece plug that will solve the problem? I had a cam phaser lockout performed a year ago and have a custom sct tune. I burn premium, have CAI and true duals.

Anxiously awaiting a new spark!

Year and engine, please? Assuming it's a 04-mid 08 5.4 3 valve, use the 2 PIECE Motorcraft SP-515.

After I already bought motorcraft and installed, my mechanic swears by champion 1 piece. We did put 1 in. Had a bad plug right off the bat.

There are 3 one piece plugs for the 3 valve:

Champion - Expensive, mixed results.
E3 - Terrible.
Brisk - a cold racing plug, not platinum, needs to be changed every 25k.

If Champion can make a one piece plug for these heads, why in the hell can't Ford, and save their customers so much trouble.

I have changed a lot of these plugs using only the Motorcraft SP515 and have never had anyone return with a problem. You may want to look at something else (tune?)that is causing the plugs to go south so fast. Good luck.

He's got another thread going:

You shouldn't do that - it gets confusing!

Since back in my days as a young hotrodder I have avoided Champion. I wont put them in my lawn mower if I can help it. I would go with the plugs Ford uses. Follow Fords TSB. Change them every 50k. Use top tier fuel.
