Who hates their after market exhaust????
I did the search and see alot of guys talking about how they love their after market cat back exhaust.
How about a different angle. Who really does not like their exhaust and why. I know it's hard to spend the money and install it and then admit a mistake.
So how about it. Who really dislikes what they installed on their 04 to 06's?

No, we went to therapy together and now have a new understanding of mutual respect and appreciation for each other.
I guess I neglected to put in the question of my post the reason for asking. I have an 05 and want to put a cat back on it. Instead of reading all of the great things others say I was looking for some negative reviews so that I, and maybe some others here do not make the same mistake.

I had an issue with my original exhaust. Not the exhaust's fault, just my specific truck caused some probs. I went with the Flowmaster kit with the super 40. I loved the sound, but here's the problem--My truck has a cap on it, so there's a large enclosed airspace. With the super 40, there was a range about 100-200RPM's wide where the exhaust would cause that airspace to resonate and darn near blow my ears out. After talking to Flowmaster, they agreed it was because of the airspace created by my cap. I swapped the super 40 out and replaced it with a 50 Series SUV performance muffler as suggested by them, and have been nothing but extremely happy ever since.
That's my story.

I loved my siso flowmaster super 40 when I first got it. I loved the sound! Then not to long ago I did the 4.6L intake mod where you take out the silencer. At first I wasnt really exactly as it changed the sound a bit but then it seemed to open up a bit and now I like it even more. Im not exactly sure on the exact defination of "drone" but you can hear it in the cab at certain rpms but for me its not "loud" at all. Then again im 17 and am exposed to 120+db all the time.

I had a love/hate relationship with my first Catback on this truck.
I loved the way it sounded and the performance. I hated the way it was too loud on long slow grades. And the evil looks the cops gave me.
Shortest (18 inch) MagnaFlow. I went back to the installer and at no charge he replaced it with the 24 inch MagnaFlow and our relationship is now very nice.
Without therapy, I might add.
It’s all in getting the right partner.

exhaust
This is a good thread. Nice angle on an old subject that has been talked about alot. I have waited on my new exhaust as I can't make up my mind on which to use. I have had everything from the good ole glasspacks to flowmaster to magnaflow. All had pro's and con's. I liked reading that the 50 series suv flowmaster is quieter in the cabin, and that the 24" magnaflow is also. Now to decide if I want to increase the tailpipe dia out the back.
thanks for the info.
