I have the Flowmaster 40 SIDO out the back. I rally like it all but one thing. The tips are angled down a little bit. When the guy put them on, he had a slight upward angle on the pipes necessitating the tips angle down slightly. Drives me nuts and someday I will take the time to have them leveled.

Really??? I have zero drone from my Banks system. Do you have a 4.6 of 5.4? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Don't you just have a SI/DO Flowmaster?

Thumper i have a ?? for you.
Im getting an 06 or 07 Harley in a few months but im kinda worried about the stearing wheel.
Ive noticed that the material had changed and was wondering what you think of the rubber like material over the actual leather in the 04's?

Back the the exhaust convo

I love mine its not loud at all but when i stomp it you can hear it

After reading all these.. I'm a little worried about my 18" magnaflow muffler that is being installed tomorrow. For those of you that have heard both that and the 24".. what is the main difference, and what didn't you like about the 18"?

I haven't heard the 24" but a buddy of mine has an 18" Maggie and I have a 14" Maggie. There really isn't a whole lotta difference between the two except that the 14" sounds a little better at idle IMO. I love the 14" it's not too loud at all and I don't have any cabin drone. You step on the gas hard and you definitely know it's there but at regular cruising speed I can't really hear it above my stereo.

Have you considered getting true duals?

Fx4man2004

I kind of like the rubber material better, the steering wheel doesn't want to slip out of your hands anymore.

I actually have both an 18" and a 24" sitting in my garage. First I had the 18" installed after reading all the recommendations from others. For me, the drone was just too much, especially when going up slight inclines with engine under load. So I went back to the muffler shop, expressed my concerns, and they went ahead an put on a 24", just charging me labor (plus they let me keep the 18")... Well, pretty much same story. I would tell a little difference (slightly less drone), but it was still too much drone for my liking. So I bit the bullet and bought a Gibson Swept Side si/so cat-back system. Installed it myself in about an hour, and now all is well. It is just slightly louder than stock, but most importantly there is absolutely no drone, not even when going up long inclines or while towing. That's what's most important to me... To try to illustrate the sound of the Gibson, it kinda sounds like what a Dodge RAM sounds like stock (not loud, but you know it's there).
