Finally! Pics inside.
Why do u always have to buy new.
+ I needed the better gas milage
second, with a $23,000 loan from the bank at 9 or 10% interest for a used truck would not come close to being paid for before a $23,000 loan from Ford at 0% for a brand new one
Hey, I know. I don't think in all my years on the corral that I ever had a post that was this long!
Wait until xmas. I have hit my wife up for a belltech 3/4. That should get me a couple of more pages.

Badge it however you want. Heck, badge it as a Z-71, I don't think too many ppl would even notice! It seems ppl like us (car/truck guys) are a tiny minority these days. You know....ppl who notice vehicles, see the details and what is special or different on a vehicle.
A guy at work (yes a GUY) who knows I am a Ford man asked me what a lightning was the other day. Said he saw a Ford truck that had a badge that read "Lightning" and didn't know what it meant.
Another example.....
I had a '99 SC XLT 4x4 red Sport Package, Saw tooth aluminum wheels with bright shiney tool box in the bed until last month. Another guy at work had a SC XLT 2x4 red, no tool box, and Jeff Gordon tag on the CHROME bumper. I can't count the ppl who asked me why I had a Jeff Gordon tag on my truck when I was a die-hard Ford guy. Only similarities was red and SC
How can so many ppl mistake these two trucks??
Another...
Traded the above mentioned truck last month for a SCrew Lariat 4x4, Red with chrome wheels and a red fiberglass tonneu bed cover. Only similarities are red and F-150. Only a few ppl even knew it was a different truck!
Sooo....do what u want with your truck. I've started to think that the only thing a person could do to his truck that anyone else would notice is to paint it a different color!

Yes, nice wheels indeed-
Heck, I didn't think a regular cab Flareside F-150 would cost $23,000, even with the 5.4L. I was thinking $18, 000 - $19,000.
I paid $24,000 for my $26,898.00 1999 F-150 SC Flareside, with 4.6l. I paid $(Get ready) $23,000- out the door for my wife's Brand New (Then) F-150 SuperCrew XLT 4.6L.
**Confession** I had to leave DFW to get that deal, but I got it. I ended up getting THE SAME TRUCK, same equipment, $5,000 cheaper than the BEST price I could get here in the DFW area, while on a 4-day weekend trip to San Antonio. In 05/2001, SCrew's were in high demand, and most couldn't get a deal then. I put $0.00-down, $448.00/mo. (That's how you haggle ladies & gentlemen. I argued for 6-hours, but I got the keys!)
Ultimate haggle: I got my 2000 Expy down from a stickered $36,762 to a cool $29,000.00, 0.9% financing x 60 mo., and I was $5,000 upside down on my 18-month old 1999 S'Cab.
There's nothing wrong with doing what you're doing- I think it's cool. I think it would be cooler to leave it badged as a regular F-150, then when you get the 150 shot, wax some serious booty- and the people that know it's not a Lightning, will NEVER want to race a real Lightning.
That 5.4L whipping that reg. cab around should be pretty swift as-is.

Yeah, I thought about that too. Leaving the the f150 badges on with the other stuff. The way things are going, it looks like I am never even going to put the bumper cover on. I have had it since I bought the truck. lol
Well, tax and all, mine was right at $23,000. I argued as much as I could, but they said that the x-plan is a settled price.

X-Plan Pricing-
Yeah, I hear ya on that.
I just found out (AFTER BUYING TWO FORDS) that I am eligible for x-plan pricing on Ford vehicles. I wonder if that deal would have been better.
From putting together packages on the internet, in most cases, I'm able to get $4,500 - $5,000 below MSRP on X-plan, except on the Marauder, where it was only like $1,700 lower....
Good luck, I can't wait to see the finished product!!!

You buying a Marauder, Bighersh?? I fell in love with those at the OK state fair. They had all the 2003's there.,,,,98
Those autometer gauges on the console!!!

It's definitely on my short-list!
I slept on the 1994 Chevy Impala SS. I could've gotten the first one that hit Killeen, TX. They wanted $19,000.00 for it. I was caught between a 1994 Cutlass Supreme SL Coupe, and a 1994 Chevy Camaro. The Cutlass, loaded was $16,995- The Z-28 was $18,995.
The Chevy finance manager, slashed the Z-28 to a dead-even $16,995 to match the Olds Cutlass. (That I drove while negotiating) The Impala SS was $21,000 and they "weren't negotiating" on those. By the time I left, he was going to sell it to me for $19,000. My dumb-@$$ walked away, and took the Cutlass because my payments were going to be $38.00 / month cheaper.
The Cutlass was very nice.... But, if I had it all to do over again, I would STILL have my SS, and I would not be feening for the Marauder like I am!!!
But man, it is nice though!! (Marauder) Local dealership is installing custom power sunroofs and rear decklid spoilers to diffrentiate them a little.
I just wonder if it will still be worth what it costs new, 6-8 years from now- as an Impala SS in good condition with low miles, will cost you today. I've seen 1994 - 1996 Impala SS's still ranging from $16,000 - $26,000, depending on mileage & condition. $26,000 was what they costed when they stopped making them in 1996.....
I want one (Marauder), but I have not been able to sell the wife on it yet. I made the mistake twice (I'm a slow learner) of buying cars without her knowledge, just bringing them home. The Marauder may be worth a good cussing out, and a 30-day sex ration again!!! What would you guys do?
