Question Duralast Gold Brake Pads

I have always used Wagner Thermo-Quiet brake pads in the past. Being I am disabled and my funds are very low I am considering Duralast Gold semi-metallic pads for my rear pads. I have heard a lot of good reviews on them but none from any F150 owners. Anyone here use/used them? Opinions?

If you have an O'Reilly's available, their BrakeBest Select pads are good. I'd take those over anything Duralast.

Have you checked online - such as rockauto.com - for prices on the Wagners?

I put the duralast golds on my truck over a year ago. They work great and are wearing well. No vibrations when braking and they produce less dust on the front wheels then the OEM pads.

Good price too.

I installed the Duralast Gold pads on my truck and I have no complaints. I usually buy those pads for all of my vehicles because the store is close by and I've had good service out of them.

Yeah, if you have time to wait and are sure of what you are buying, they will give you the best prices.

I'd go with the C-Max ceramic if you want Duralast pads. I run those, and I like the low dust and included hardware. The initial bite is a little weaker than the semi-metallic pads. The "Gold" line of Duralast pads just means that it matches the OE pad material, and has a nicer backing plate. They all come with lifetime warranties.

(I work at an Autozone)

They wear fast. I was getting a years driving out of a set. The lifetime warranty is nice, full exchange at no cost. But I'm not a fan of the dust or having to change them every 10-12k miles

I do normal driving, tow maybe twice a year. But I'm heavy footed. Someone else may be able to get 20k from them.

They don't wear fast at all in my vehicles, minimum 60k miles I'd say. I've never been hard on brakes. The accelerator is more to my liking.

Could be my brakes then. But, you can find plenty of other people getting low mileage from them as well. At the same time, plenty of people getting lots of miles from them. There are plenty of factors that would determine that. Like I said, I'm heavy footed. Aggressive acceleration, aggressive deceleration, everyday. I go through tires sooner than most as well.
