ceramic pass?

Hi y'all,
I need to replace brake pads and would like feed back on ceramic pads. Do I need rotors to match them, because they are a harder pad, or just regular rotors?
OR is it best to avoid ceramic all together.
If so what's the best pads to use?
Thanx in advance for anyone's input.
Happy Holidays.

My favorite pad is the Wagner TQ semi metallic. As to your question, no need for different rotors got the ceramics.

Thanks Bluejay,
Got a 97 F150 w 380k miles and want pads to last as long as possible.
Are the semi metallic considered heavy duty?

Yes, I would say so. The first set I bought, I put about 80,000 on them, on my 2005, and they could have gone another 20,000 when I changed them out for another set.

The semi-metallics are just as good if you don't tow often. Wagner is good stuff for a great price.

When I had my fronts done at 65k, I had Centric ceramics and Centric premium rotors installed. I now have 173k and they still pass inspection. I really like them, best brakes I've ever had on any vehicle.

Put ceramics on wife's Aviator and changed em out to semi's a month later after getting tired of listening to complaints of them being noisy.

The only time mine have been noisy is if I let the truck sit for a few weeks without driving it - they grind a bit for the first few stops till the surface rust gets knocked off the rotors. Otherwise, they are virtually silent. No squeaks or squeals - EVER.
