Wheel and tire advice please
Wheel and tire advice please
Hey everyone. It's almost my birthday and wheels and tires are on the list. Just want to confirm whether what I'm thinking will work or not. Here's what I have:
2010 FX4 Supercrew
1.5" AS level (same as a 2" level from any other company)
Would the following work?
20x9 XD Monsters +18 offset
295/60/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers
If rubbing would occur, just valence?
Or should I stick with 305/55/20?
Thanks!

Thanks. Yeah I've read and read and read, just want to make sure before I sink the investment. And tire shops are usually the least helpful because they are always conservative. If you get any rub, they're reluctant. As far as the trimming goes, is this something that needs to be done prior to the purchase or will I be able to manage to begin with to assess how much needs to be trimmed? Thanks again!
Check this thread from the other f150 site. Also have a friend with a 2012 fx4 leveled with 35x12.5/20 toyo mts with no rubbing after valance trim. Can maybe snap a picture later today.

Russ, the wheel's you mentioned will stick out about 1 1/2 inches more then the stock 20's. With a 295x60x20 Trail Grappler on you may have some rubbing on the lower wheelwell's and the plastic valence in the front when making hard turn's. It depend's how much trimming you want to do to make them fit. I think you can make them fit but it may turn out to be an expensive mistake. Like Wandell said a 305x55x20 may be a better option. Do a little more research before buying.

Were you wondering what I meant by that? All I meant was (rightfully so) they are conservative in telling you what will "fit". For them if there's any rubbing or trimming, they'll say it's a no go. That's all I meant. Now they'll still order whatever I want, but if I just went in for advice, they'll look at their computer and tell me what it spits out.

Look's like the 295x60's may work on those wheel's after all. You still may have to do some trimming and don't plan on doing any rough offroading either! I'd try to test fit on the front first to make sure of the clearance if that's possible.
Thanks! That looks good!
