Biggest tire size

Im going to be purchasing 18x9 moto metal chrome 951's and want a set of nitto terra grapplers, what is the biggest tire I can put on, I was told 285/60/18 would be the recommended size but Im afraid the sidewall height might be somewhat short, I have a 2007 fx4 f150 crew cab long bed 4x4. Any advice

I was told for the 18x9 moto metals I want, 285/60/18 would be the largest tire I can put on with no mods or trimming, is this true or can I get a 285/65 or 285/70 on

dont think they make a 285/70/18...a 285/65/18 is about 32.5 inches tall, 285/60/18 is around 31.5

depending on stock lift or if you have a leveling kit..im pretty sure you could run a 285/65/18 no problems

if you do have a leveling kit you could probably run 295/70/18, im not very familiar with 18" wheels..

Without a leveling kit or trimming, you'll have a hard time running anything bigger than a 33" tire on a 4x4. For the Terra Grapplers, there is no 285/70/18. If you're not going to put in a leveling kit, your best bet would be the 285/65/18 Terra's. That'll put you around 32.5-33" in height, and it shouldn't rub much, if it rubs at all.

I'm running the 295/70/18 34.5" Terra's on an 18x9 wheel, but I've got a 2" leveling kit up front. And I still had to trim the front valance just a little.

The 285/65/18 will fit with no rub if you are running stock wheels. If u have level u can run up to equivalent of 35 by 12.5 with stock wheels or very similar bs and offset aftermarket. If aftermarket wider wheels recommend 33x12.5 max. Here's mine before level with 285/70/17 which is the same size as 285/65/18. No rubbing at all.

The OEM 17's and 18's are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of BS.

If you are looking to buy custom wheels with similar to stock backspacing I would ask Wandell if your setup will work. Do you have a level? 18 inch custom wheels are usually 9 inches wide. You could always drop to 17s that are 8 inches wide with about 5.5 inches of bs which would be close to stock. That is what I went with, and with my 2 inch level plan to eventually fit 34 or 35 inch tires. If you only want 33s you can get by with a wider wheel. Do you want the tires to stick out past the fenders or tuck under and stay flush? There are different specs depending on the look u are going for and the size of tire u want. Since u already have wheels in mind, do u have a level and if u can post the specs of those rims it will help.

The 951 - 18x9 moto metals I was going to get were 30mm offset, 6 1/4 bs, I would like to run 285/65/18 nitto terras. Right now no level. What do you think?

that seems close to stock so I am sure u will be good. May want to wait for a Wandell verification, but 99% sure u will be just fine.

How about a 2011 4x4 1.5 level. Would a 285/70/17 work on stock wheel without a trim?

Definitely. Will work with no level at all, so will easily clear with the 1.5 inch level. Could even go a little bigger if you want.
