Should I have done better mileage-wise, BFG AT's?
Well, it's time for new rubber, and I am going up to 35's. I am running 305 BFG's now, and want to get the 315's (315-75-16) on my 2000 with a Fabtech suspension.
I got 41,000 miles from the 305 BFG's, and was hoping for a little better mileage- like maybe 50,000.
I really like the BFG's as a great all around tire, but am I screwing myself out of miles? Will the 315's last a little longer considering that the revolutions per mile will be a little less?
What kind of mileage have you gotten out of similar size BFG's? I often hear about some extrodinary numbers, but chalk it up to internet illusions of grandeur. <GRIN>

I would say driving style has a lot to do with wear too, IMO. Since my lift I have babied the truck, where as with the stock tires and the bfgs I had a more aggressive driving style. That is kinda part of my take on why my toyos lasted me so long.

They are going to be noisier than the bfgs, they are quiet for a mud tire though. The quietest version of mud tire is the trail grapplers IMO. I can't recall there mileage rating off the top of my head, I'd expect 40's to 50's easily, with mileage still left in them. I checked I have 56k on mine and will probably run them to at least 60k. But again I'm really Banting the truck since the lift. It is my daily driver, and I'm worried the transmission is going to give out on me after 50k+ with this lift. Only time will tell I guess. I love the toyos and recommend them, but I think you'll find higher mileage tires in certain AT tires; they just font really have an aggressive design to them. For example the nitto dura grapplers, I think, are supposed to be high mileage tires.

I have a set of 35X12.5r18 they are Nitto Duragrappler. They are rated for highway terrain and they are usually the choice of tire for the haulers with big f-250,f-350,2500 and so on just because most of them can get up to 75-80K miles out of them. If you are looking for comfort, high mileage and silent tire this is the one you should be looking for.

Neither tire is cheap. The Toyo MT's are a good bit noisier then the BFG AT's but not that bad for a MT. The BFG AT's ought to get 60 to 70k miles where the Toyo MT's maybe 50-60k. I've got 18k on my Toyo MT's and ought to get 50k easy, maybe more. The Toyo MT's do look a lot better then the BFG AT's though! That's why I bought them!
