Fair Price ?

Whats a fair price on a set of

38/13.5R20 Toyo M/T's with about 11,000 miles (give or take) and 2 of the tires are worn a little unevenly ?

I can get them new for $1,700 shipped , just curious what you think a fair price for this used set would be

Well, you figure they are down about a quarter or so of their life, so that is down to $1,275. Add the uneven wear, and I think it drops to under $1,000. That would still be $250 per tire. Still seems like a lot, but they are 38s. I would guess the other component on fairness would be what you are comfortable paying.

I bought used tires once that were described as having no problems and they sucked. Swore I would never but used again, but each situation should be judged by the facts at hand.

Don't know if any of this has helped or not. Good luck.

Re sale on used tires is not very good at all you should be able to get a better deal than that, what do those tires run new?

They were just unevenly worn, caused a death-wobblesque situation. I never contacted the seller about it because he gave me every opportunity to check them out but I was in a hurry. My fault. They were 35" SuperSwamper TSLs or something like that, over half the tread and I paid about $300. This was on my old truck.

I would have them mounted and drive them at all speeds before paying, let him ride along. Then if they suck, you're just out the mount and balance and he sees the problems with them. If they are good, you're golden as they are already on your truck. Win-win.
