I think that its due to the fact that you did not buy the tires from them. Thats where the money is...they don't really care about getting them on your truck, and they would rather spend their time selling tires and putting them on. Just my opinion that you are gonna pay more since you made your purchase elsewhere.

I never buy tires from a local shop. I usually get charged $50 for them to mount and balance them but That shop said they cant do 20"s. I just dont understand why these shops have not upgraded there equipment to accept larger wheels. just about every car maker has 20's in there line up. Hell GMC has 22's from the factory now

Just because they said they cannot do twenties, does not mean that they cannot. They probably can, and do not want to deal with you because they did not sell you their tires. There is no money in putting tires on...well there is if you buy their tires. I am just trying to help you see it from their view. Right or wrong, I don't care. I was only offering an explanation. BTW, my Brother in Law manages a Firestone. I am not pulling theories out of my butt.

80-100 sounds reasonable to me, more so of you didn't buy the tires from them. A lot of shops I know of charge about $20ish per tire to mount and balance.

Discount Tire was $60 mounted with metal stems, balanced on the inside and put on my truck.

Mounted, balanced, etc for free. Purchased at Discount Tire. Got the BFG TA/KO 285/65/20 for $300/ea, free shipping. Not a bad deal.

LOl Firestone actually told me $138...ouch!! I just called a place who told me $65, so I hope they honor it after work! As far as no money for mounting them...$60 for 30 minutes seems to be better than nothing. Not to mention the economy has gone to **** so they got to be hurting as well

Took 'Tires Plus' a little over 1.5hrs to mount and balance my 33x13.5" on 18x10's..$109 (includes 4 chrome valve stems). I put the wheels on at home afterwards. I thought it took way too long.
