Question Tire question 2005 2wd

Hey guys I got a 2005 2WD supercrew and im going to be needing some new tires soon and wanted to get something bigger than stock. Whats the biggest I can go on stock wheels and what would be the biggest I could go if I put a 2.5" AS kit on? I want to get something more aggresive than stock but the truck will mainly stay on the pavement so I want to get something that is kinda quiet. Im clueless with the whole tire thing so if yall could help me it would be great.

Thanks

I'd suggest a 285/70-17 or 285/65-18 BFG AT KO or Nitto Terra Grappler.

Thanks Wandell, would those fit without a leveling kit or would I need to put one on in order to fit those?

If you use the oem wheels, they should fit without a leveling kit.

But, he's using the oem wheels. If he was using an aftermarket wheel with different specs, he would more than likely have to have a leveling kit.

Would the tire sizes Wandell suggested look stuffed under my truck or rub at all?

No, I had the 265/70/17 and there was lots of room left. I also had the 2" drop in the rear. The 285s will look good and fit fine, just have to recalobrate the speedometer.

It's a great excuse for purchasing a tuner, such as the Gryphon, Edge or Xcal2! Or you can pay your dealer about $80.
