Exclamation Tire + Rim help!

I have bought and have at my house already;

20x8.5 6x135 Liquid Metal Wingman

with an Offset: 25

I want to get 305/55/20 tires on it, but now I cant cause the rim is only 8.5?
is there anything I can do to make it work or does anyone else have a 20x8.5 on 305/55's ? the tires are Nitto Terra Grappler

someone please help!

Why can't you mount 305's on an 8.5 inch wide wheels? Several members have mounted 305' (12.50's) on oem 7.5 inch wide wheels with no problems.

Exclamation

The people I want to buy them off ebay said :

"According to the manufacturer these will be just too wide for a 8.5" wheel."

and I saw on some websites that sell the tire i want (Nitto Terra Grappler 305/55/20), they start at 9" and not 8.5, i just want to be sure it will work.

will 305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grappler tires work with my 20x8.5 rim??

does anyone know anyone else with this same setup? please let me know thanks!!!

305-55-20 shouldnt matter on 8.5 rim its only 1/4 in per side. on my factory 18x7.5 i have goodyear prograde 325-60-18 that tire recommends at least 8.5 minimum rim looks and works fine it just sqeezes the tire more. wears out a little faster. or uneven. so just a 1/2in overall wont matter at all

No problem with 305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers fitting on 20 x 8.5 wheels. That's the same setup I have. The only difference is my wheels have 38mm offset.

thanks guys,

my rims are Offset: 25

will this make a difference

also probably last question,

I have a 06 ford f150 xlt triton super cab 4x4, with no lift or leveling kit. will this work (20x8.5 rims & 305/55/r20) with no rubbing or problems? please let me know.

I would like to have as less space as i can in the area between the tire and car body.

thanks for all the help. thanks

can I just go with a 275/55-20 Nitto Terra Grappler? what will be different? will this make it look any different (height wise) and how? will it matter if I get this or the 305/55/20 ? if one would rub would they both? the rim is 20x8.5 with an offset of 25 which I think is a backspace of 5.75

thank you

also please give me your input! what tire would you recommend! please help me out!!!!!!!!!!!

like a 285/55? please help!

do they make a 285/60 r20?

A 275/55-20 is gonna look kinda small. I'd go with the 305/55-20's or a 285/55-20. Both of those sizes are right at 33 inches tall. One is just 20mm wider.

That's what I would do. A leveling kit will make the truck look better even if you were keeping the oem wheels and tires.
