Hey Wandell, or anyone.....

Hey Wandell, I saw where you said in another thread > If you add a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit, you should be able to fit a 285/65-18 (33x11.50) tire using an 8 to 9 inch wide wheel with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing. <

.......which is in fact, what I plan to do, except for a few things...
1) I might go with 295/70-17's Nitto TG's (I think they are like 33.2" diameter) and
2) I was planning on adding the adjustable Bilsteins, as the very last step, so I could measure everything just like it will end up sitting, with the new tires / wheels, plus boat trailer attached, and then level it to exactly what I need.
So what I'm asking is, is there any chance it would be flat undriveable, until I put my Bilsteins in ? "OR" might they just rub a touch with my wheels all the way cranked, or gassing it, in a tight turn ? I could live with that a few days, if it took that long to get the Bilsteins put in....

Thank you,
Fish

You can fit 285/65/18's stock if you have a 4x4... I think attworth was even running 295/70/17's stock at one time and his truck is 2wd.

I don't think those would rub at all, stock even. (assuming you have a 4x4)

Well thats what I get for assuming, haha. Anyway, I know attworth was running 295/70/17's for a while with a leveling kit, but took it off and they still didn't rub.. So you should be fine.

I'd add the leveling kit first.

Hmmmm....

Just to be safe, huh ?

I wonder if the Bilstein adjustable height shocks can be installed (at say 2") lift, but still be dropped down to say 1 1/2" later, if need be ? .....without completely uninstalling, then reinstalling them ?

Thanks Wandell,

Fish

Yes, the Bilstiens can be adjusted, but I think you will have to remove them.
