2005 F150 Bfg At 285/65r18

I have a 2005 F150 with 275/65R18's. I need a new set of tires. I was looking at BFG AT 285/65R18's. Those tires are slightly larger than OEM. Has anyone tried it? Any difference in ride, turning radius, etc? I have a 100k mile extended warranty, do you think it would void my warranty? If I should go with the OEM size, what tire does everyone recommend?

I have a 2004 F-150 FX4. I just replaced my factory LT275/65R18 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S that had 63,000 miles on them. I replaced them with BFG LT285/65R18 two weeks ago today. I have put 900 miles on them so far and no problems. So far I would recommend them, they are a great tire with great wet pavement and snow traction. They ride a little stiffer around town because they are Load E tires.

Excellent Tire choice. Not sure if they would have an effect on your warranty or not, but you will be very happy with them. I was looking into them to. Discounttiredirect.com has a $50.00 mail in rebate right now FYI. They your speedo will read a little off since they are taller than your OE tires. Here's a link for that:

I also have an 04 screw FX4. I bought it with BFG A/T 285/65/18. I was wondering what tire pressure I should be running. I read the sticker inside the door and it looks like it says 35 pounds front and back.( the sticker is a little hard to read) That is for the stock 275/65/18. I checked the pressure and all 4 tires have 45 pounds. Is this too much?

Any tire that is not stock you have to look on the sidewall for max psi and load range. 45 psi ought to good for everyday driving, hope it's not too rough!

The ride isn't terrible. I just dont want to wear out the tires prematurely. The max load range is 3640 lbs @ 80 psi.

That sound's like a E rated tire and 42 to 45psi ought to be fine. My tires are D rated at 50psi max and I run them at 42 to 45 psi, just check them for irregular wear and rotate as needed. I rotate mine every 10k miles.

I just installed these yesterday and love them. I got to hit a few job sites and they have great traction. I read many reviews on them and you really can't beat them.

How do you know if they are E or D rated?

It will say it on the side. I believe all 285/65/18 BFG AT KO's are E rated. Check out tirerack for more info.
