Maxxis Tires

Are they any good? I'm looking at them a lot more lately and I like the price, but is the quality there? I'm looking at the Bighorns, but I'm confused. Are they a bit more of an AT tire as the Buckshots are more of a mud tire? The pictures and the descriptions on the MAxxis website are almost identical.
Anyone have experience with them? How many miles should I be able to get out of them?
Thanks!

I'm runnin the buckshots and they are definately mudders, really happy with them. My uncle owns a tire shop and recommended them. As long as you rotate them, you should get as many miles out of them as you would any other 35. I've put about 20K on them and they are wearing good.

I'm thinking about getting a set of Maxxis ATs for the winter and mounting them on my stock FX4 17s. Just a thought right now, won't have to pull the trigger for another month probably.

Pics of them in my gallery...

Maxxis Tires

I don't have any experience with Maxxis truck tires but I run their tires on my quads for desert racing. They are very good quality. Where can you find their truck tires?

They're all over ebay.
I'm thinking either htem or some Nitto Terra Grapplers. In 305/70/17 on the stick rims after I put on my 2" AS. I think the Nittos might fit my driving style a little better.

Tardman, I'd put a leveling kit on and throw on some 305x70x17 Buckshot's or Bighorn's. I would guess you would get 30 to 40k miles easy. Just my 2 cent's.

What's the difference between the Buckshots and the Bighorns? Anybody know? I thought one was more of an AT, and one more of a mud, but looking at their website I'm not too sure anymore.

i would think the bighorn really is more of an a/t tire compared to the buckshot which is more of a muddin tire... just my $0.02

Russ,
you are definately wrong about that. The treads are almost identical between the two, but the bighorn is MORE of a mudtire. I have the bighorns on my jeep. The tires pull awesome, but unfortunately, wear a little uneven and fast. I have about 10k on them, and they are still ok.

so the buckshots would be what I want then?
Would I be able to get at least 40K miles out of them?
I can't afford to be replacing tires every other year.

I had a set of buckshots on a 2000 F150 4x4 and they did great. I put 48,000 on those tires and they still had some tread left, not alot but some. They do great on hard packed dirt, loose rocky stuff and mud. They do have a howl goin down the road, but what do u expect from a mud tire?
