Wheel question?

I am looking at 18x10 wheels for my '04 SCrew FX4. They are listed as having -25mm offset. Am I correct in thinking this is about 6 inches of backspacing, meaning they will 'stick' out about 2 inches more than stock?

I would probably put the new BFG Mud Terrain KM2's on them , size 305/60/18. My truck is stock, no levelling kit. Would I need a levelling kit for this? Any thoughts on looks/functionality of this setup? Thanks for your help...

You will probably have to do some trimming, and you will definitely need a leveling kit. 10" rims are a little too wide, IMO. 9" look sweet.

No, those would have 4.5 inches of backspacing. That means they will stick our 3.5 inches farther than the oem wheels. You will need a full lift kit to fit the 305/65-18's (34x12.50) or a different wheel. I'd suggest an 18x9 with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing.

Thanks for advice so far. How about an 18x8.5 wheel, with 25 mm offset. Is that around 5.25 backspacing? Meaning will protrude about 1.25" more than stock? The tires I am looking at are 305/60-18, not 65's, so they should fit more easily right? Thanks...

What is the backspacing? That is so much easier to understand because it doesn't change with wheel width.

Backspacing is 5.75 - So that should work pretty well with a 305/60-18 tire, or also with a 35x12.50 tire with a 2.5 levelling kit according to some of the recent posts?

An 8.5 inch wheel with 5.75 inches of bs should work fine with some 305/60-18's. It would be really tight with 35's.
