Thanks for the compliments, and yes it does yeild excellent results.
one clarification though, they are NOT aluminum, they are cast iron.
Cast iron smooths out just as nice of not nicer and brighter then cast aluminum.

Also this was a rushed job, as i really just wanted to get one side exposed to see what it would do and i had things to do this afternoon. After a real good sanding and polishing, these should look like they came chrome plated from the factory.

So I finally got around to getting my pics uploaded from when i did the other side.
These are alot better looking as there was still plenty of daylight.
the caliper shows up alot better.

I sanded the sideds and took Mothers mag polish to it.

I went at it with the polisher pretty good. I only did the face though as i had another plan for the back/sides.

Here it is, i couldnt believe my eyes.... yep thats cast iron.

I then masked off everything i didnt want painted and sprayed some high temp navy blue. My truck has metalic paint so before the dark blue was dry i did a "dust" of metalic blue. it matched up to my OE color perfectly.

Once agian, i got some clear on the polished out metal to keep it protected.

The rest of the pics speak for themselves

That last pic shows how well it matched the OE blue. it even changes from blue to purple with the angle.

Here is mine: I added some silver to the blue. Really shines in the sun!

I wish I had rear disks...

I like your front rotors. I gotta get me a set now, the stock rusty ones look like dogpoo with the new look of the calipers.

and on your rear, why not upgrade? there should be plenty of trucks to get parts from. I think the rear discs off an Expy might work too.

Thanks Budha

well being that you have a dark grey truck and black wheels, i would say accent it with a nice silver or lighter grey.

Not too dark as to hide it in the wheel, and light enough to not make it stick out too much from the dark grey on the truck.

or do a two tone like mine. do it silver where mine is blue, and a dark grey almost black on the part that mine is chrome.

Thanks guys. The more and more I stare at them, I'm thinking of doing black and sliver to kinda mimic/match the wheels.

I would go blue, that would match your color theme, but don't forget to paint your caliper brackets too, it looks so tacky when they're not done with the calipers.

Well, I was planning on painting my calipers and the hat on the rotor black just to keep it clean, but after reading this thread, I will be polishing them to match my bumpers and grill
thanks Fabian06SC
