I need tires!

I have a 2004 F150 Reg Cab 4WD and 17" steel 7-lug wheels and its coming time that I need new tires. I would like to know the biggest size tires I can fit on this puppy with and without installing a leveling lift kit.

I'm in the same boat

I've got the same question, lol. I've got an 04 XLT supercab 4x2 and there isnt squat for OEM replacement tires. So i'm guessing I'll need to get a dif. tire size and i'd like to know what sizes would be a good replacement. Like you I dont want to lift/alter it but want the most aggressive i can fit under it and still have some room for suspension travel off road. I'd like to keep the 17" rims just to save some money too.

pontiacman go with 285/70/17 (33x11.50) they'll fit great, take a look at mine I know its a different model but itll give you an idea.

drivestupid - 265/70/17 (32x10.50) is the biggest you should go on a 2wd....

i am planning on doing a 2.5" lift in the front. is a 35x12.5 going to fit on my factory stock 7 lug 17" rims? also what 35x12.5x17 tire do you recomend? im looking for a tire with good snow traction and some mud and i do a lot of highway driving so i dont want a noisy tire. thanks for your replies thus far

Yes, a 35x12.50 (315/70-17) will fit your OEM 7.5 inch wide wheels. I'd recommend the 315/70-17 BFG AT KO.
