If the PC'er lays a decent coat on them they should come out looking like glass. Your correct on the durability, however, they may chip later on in life. Metal that is going to be powdered needs to be somewhat rough, since your wheels are polished, the powder will eventaully chip upon impact. It will last longer than paint though.
