These just showed up today. Their off to the powdercoater tomorrow to hopefully be back before my lift goes on the 17th:

I sure do like the look of polished aluminum. Hopefully the clear powdercoat comes out alright on them, I should know in a week or so. I've had polished aluminum rims in the past and refused to polish so much ever again.

Yeah same here. I might go this route. What wheel is that? Looks like the Classic 2.

They are the mickey thompson classic 2's. The wheels are actually done, I just couldn't get out of work in time to go pick them up. Should be picking them up tomorrow, I will post some pics of how they turned out.

It was only $225 to do all 4. I found a place that would do all 4 for $100 bucks but it just sounded to good to be true to me for quality.

Hopefully they look good when I pick them up tomorrow, if so the next hurdle will be to see if they yellow at all over time. The dood doin the powdercoating said they shouldn't yellow as they actually use clear over some other color powdercoat finishes to make them uv resistant.

Couldn't you have gotten them regular clear cloated rather than powdercoat? What I'm getting at is what are benefits besides durability? I would think they'd shine a bit more with regular clear coat.

The clear powdercoat comes in matte, semi-gloss, and gloss. The dood doin the powdercoating said he did some aluminum parts (valve covers, etc) with the gloss powdercoat and it gave a deep shine. I'm itching to see how these turned out.

The only advantage I could see with powdercoat is durability as opposed to a thinner painted clearcoat.

I think either would be acceptable though...I just remember the constant attention my last polished aluminum rims took and I refuse to do that again

I am a powder coater and unless they really screw them up, you will not be dissappointed. Don't go any way but ultra high gloss. The mattes and semis tend to come out yellow due to low baking temps. If the PC'er lays a decent coat on them they should come out looking like glass. Your correct on the durability, however, they may chip later on in life. Metal that is going to be powdered needs to be somewhat rough, since your wheels are polished, the powder will eventaully chip upon impact. It will last longer than paint though.
