Is there such a thing as too much black?

I got the all black STX Flareside and I'm tempted to go with black rims.

Too Much?

What matters is what you want. Some people will like the look, but personally I wouldn't do it. If you get black wheels, I'd suggest getting something with a chrome lip and black center.

I work with a guy who has a 2005 Chrysler 300 all black with balck/chrome rims and it looks bad! I don't think it would look nearly as good with all black rims, the chrome lips really set it off.... 100% black would look like government issue....

Your truck, your decision. A cheap way to get an idea of the look is to take a picture of your truck and then use a black marker to color the rims. I've considered black wheels for my truck but it's not all black; bumpers are chrome, running boards are silver, mirror covers are chrome.

Again your truck....

With the all black wheel/tire combo it looks cheap, like the black spokes from American Racing and the cheapest tire they can find.

I' m not saying this is you, but thats what I think when I see it.

I wish white wheels on a white truck looked as good!!

Contrast Is Best

I firmly believe that contrast is best. I have a White Screw with Chrome 20's. Not the best example of contrast, but I have been in the Tire industry for 15 years. I have sold thousands of wheel / tire combo's. The BEST looking fitments always have or maintain contrast and balance. White/white/white is too 80's. Black/black/black is too " Patrol car" as someone else so boldly stated. Black rims belong on a NASCAR and a COP car.....and perhaps a JEEP.

Think Harley Davidson.....Chopper....ALWAYS have the contrast of Chrome/Paint and Rubber!
Never forget, BE YOURSELF...THis is just one man's perspective!
