Brake Dust - Huge Problem
This may have been asked before but I have a question regarding my F150 SCREW and for that matter my Expedition. Both vehicles are basically brand new, the F150 has only 8,000 miles and has the orignal factory brakes.
I have some nice 22" wheels on it and the brake dust that comes off these damn front brakes is horrible. I am washing / cleaning my wheels twice a week. Its dark, dirty and nasty in just a few days of driving.
What the hell is wrong with the factory brakes? Why is there so much dust? What can I do to address this issue?

Your stock brakes are designed for the stock wheels/tires. Remember that putting those 22's on increased your rolling mass, making your stock braking system work that much harder. which = more brake dust & more wear. You can do a couple of things: dust shields, ceramic pads, use brake dust repellent, or upgrade to a set of bigger rotors. i.e. baer eradi speed +1, which will increase your overall stopping power to better than stock, due to the larger rotors. Michelin makes a brake dust repellent, found around here at AUTOZONE. haven't used it yet, but planning on trying some. will let you know.
