Post Goodyear AT-S good in the wet?

Is anybody running Goodyears 305-70-16 AT-S?
I am about to buy a new set of tires and I like the BF Goodrich AT's, but they don't make 305's. I am running goodyears (OEM)
right now, and they are a handful in wet pavement. Thanks for any input.

In other words: Which one has better traction
in wet weather, the BF Goodrich AT KO or the
Goodyear Wrangler AT-S?
How about PROCOMP AT's? or Mickey Thompson's
Radial MTX?
Thanks

Cool

I had Goodyears but they sucked in the rain. Now I have BFG and they are great. Can't ever go wrong with BFG. Good luck.

Do your self a favor and stay clear of the Goodyear AT/S tires. I had the 305/70/16's and they were a nightmare to try and balance. Go with the BFG A/T's or try the new Pro Comp Mud tires. They are as quiet as the BFG A/T's because of the siping in the tire tread and Four Wheel Parts Wholesalers are having buy 3 and get the 4th tire free sale in another week or so!!! Good luck!!

Thanks. This just made a decision easier. I'll stay clear of the Goodyears and I'll buy BG Goodrich AT KO's. I understand that some new sizes came out in the AT KO's, do you know if 305's is one of those new sizes?
I have a 97 SC 4X2 that I lifted yesterday, with Bullseye spindles and Superlift 2" blocks. It's in the alignment shop right, getting checked out. My AR Baja's will be here Tuesday, and next week I am going to take advantage of that "buy three and get four tires" deal at Four Parts in Austin.
I'll probabably go with 295's.

Sorry!!!! Maybe I was not clear . The Pro Comp Tires are 4 for the price of 3. The BFG's come with a $50.00 rebate and I believe a jacket. 4Wheel parts wholesalers have the Pro Comp AT's and MT's in 305/70/16. Good Luck!!!

Goodyear Wranglers leave much to be desired on wet pavement. I am still researching alternates for my current setup, but I cannot imagine any worse than the Goodyears. BFG ATs or MTs would be the tire of choice, dependent upon application, of course. There have been numerous occasions where these expensive Goodyear (factory-installed) tires have failed in wet conditions - near collision and/ or inadvertant offroad occasions at that. My suggestion would be to steer clear of these inadequate treads and opt for the proven BFGs.

Thanks. I run across a special on Firestone AT III's at 105.00 apiece and bought them.
I already had a chance to try them in the rain, they are good. When I had my Goodyears I could break traction (wet or dry) almost at will, not so with the Firestones.

Red face

I have had two different sets of BFG tires on two different trucks. I had a midsized truck that i put BFG Trail tires on and they were great in the rain! More of a road tire as i'm sure you are aware of. I haven't tried the BFG AT's but i have the BFG MT's on my truck now. They do GREAT off-road! A warning though - if you are on wet pavement, don't expect a whole lot from these tires. With the light bed of a truck, the rear-end tends to slide easily on these tires. Just be a little more aware on those winding back roads. If you look at the overall handling, you can't beat BFG tires!!
