Post Radiator Suit Info

For those who have expressed interest in the status of legal action on the tow package/radiator situation, here it is. A class action was filed in NY in April, alleging that the larger radiators were supposed to be included with these vehicles but were not. Ford has now responded to the suit, essentially denying the allegation that they did anything wrong. (They basically assert that their right to change specs goes so far as to include this situation, which to me reads as completely crazy and flat-out-wrong, but this will be up to the lawyers & judges to sort out...)

The case is being handled by a very prominent plaintiff side/class action firm, Milberg, Weiss - http://www.milberg.com. If you are interested in the suit, you can contact Ben Kaufman at Milberg, his email address is byk@mwbhlny.com, and the firm's phone number is 212-594-5300.

No worries folks, you do not need to send Ben your info or call him unless you want more information about the suit or want to provide information regarding the case. (He's a very nice guy though, in fact all of them are, so if you want to chat with him, feel free - I'm sure he'd be happy to hear from anyone here.)

so what are you people trying to get from sueing, radiators? or are you sueing for money? If its just money then there is another waste of the courts time, just my opinion, but if its to get ford to give the proper radiators then good

Black 150:

Check the thread under engines/wrong radiator in 2000/2001. Read each one - on every one of the 15 pages. If you don't understand the issue and what we're after, I'll be glad to explain it explicitly to you.

i understand if you are supposed to have the bigger rad then u should get it, if it takes sueing ford to do it fine, but if you think you should get extra compensation or some bs like that then there are more important things that the courts time can be used for, basically i am saying is that if you are sueing for the right reason great, but most sueing now a days is that people just want to get rich quick

Yea, we're all a bunch of mad truck owners looking for an extra buck or two... Give me a break Black F150! And give the others on this site a little more credit than that too. If that's what you really think we're after on this whole issue, then you've missed the point entirely, AND you're the one wasting our time!

don't get your panties in a bunch, i clearly said if your are suing for the right reasons then fine, besides i dont really care because i have the right rad anyways, i was just stating an opinion, if you want another opinion ford has done more stupids things like changeing the oil filter location, and putting rear discs on trucks (the only exception is a lightning or for people who never see mud or road dust), not just car like driving but a car like truck, dont worrry if i had the wrong rad i'd be kinda choked too and i am sure its a hassel tring to get the proper one too, but ford has done changes so often - look at the early trucks 97 that the interior lights would come on when u pulled up on the handle - they dropped that too, so what do u get with a supper cooing now anyways ? trans cooler? ps cooler? or nothing? I paid for an offroad package and a trailer tow wich actually half of that option was covered by each other, did i get a discount - i doubt it becuase after later checking i could have bought the trailer wiring and hitch for less money than the option, but then the offroad included the super cooling - wich ford later changed, o and my window sheet also said that i had an e4od - when i really have a 4r70, but i've personally only seen the e4od (4r100) after 99 in f250ld and expeditions, so the biggest thing i am wonder is that if ford figured that they no longer needed an e4od behind a 5.4 maybe they figured they no longer needed a bigger rad. Now here is another question how many peoples window sticker shows e4od when they have a 4r70? is this the same type of deal as the rad?

Black,
I don't wear panties. Tighty whities or boxers, thank you. Your opinion is fine, just please don't think so little of your fellow F150 owners as to think we would want something other than what we PAID for. ie more money instead of the correct radiator.

For my part, I wanted the right radiator, and I got it. Some people may not want their cooling systems messed with at this point, and if they'd rather have money, that's just fine - either way, the goal is for Ford to make things right by people who paid for something and didn't receive it.

Well guys...,
This is just my opinion and 2 cents worth. I recently had the 1.02" radiator changed to the 2.02" by my dealer under warranty. It was a painless process, and my dealer was very nice about it and gave me no hassle.

However, in my "tests" of the the 2.02" radiator, I really didn't see any difference than with the 1.02" radiator. Wont' go into detail here as I have more detail in the 15 page radiator post.

Again, just my opinion, but my "tests" lead me to believe that the 1.02" is as good as the 2.02" due to better design of the 1.02". Now that the bigger radiator is installed and knowing what I know now, I would not have wasted my time is getting the bigger radiator. Also, knowing what I know now, I think that a lawsuit will just hurt all of us in the long run due to legal costs, etc. But, that is just my biased general opinion and I hate lawyers since they will pocket a very large part of it anyway regardless of what happens. Lawsuits should be reserved for much bigger issues that this radiator squabble.

You got lucky GoDogGo, the correct radiator for our Screws is the 1.42" not the 2.02, you really got super cooling.
