If someone is so thin skinned that they would take offense to being called, Brit, Canuck, Yank, or Jap, then they have some real big problems. Enough of this politically correct crap. It's getting crazy. You don't know what to call people these days. African American, not, they are living in the US not Africa, Native Americans, well we assigned the name Indians to them, and they were natives of this land long before anyone coined the term American. They are all just bull***** labels. Lighten up.

There's a huge difference in calling a Brit a Brit. They call themselves that. It's not a derogatory term. I also know a lot of Canadians who see nothing wrong with calling themselves Canucks. I have yet to meet an American who isn't proud to be called a Yank.

Japanese, on the other hand, don't take well to being called Japs. Jap is a product of World War II and for obvious reasons. Same with Kraut.

Don't get your panties in a wad over this. I'll chalk it up to your being uneducated in this matter, so I give you the benefit of the doubt.

Don't ever forget that whatever you write is also read by the rest of the world. While you may feel comfortable using the epithets that you do within your circle, in this board, you are dealing with a myriad of peoples.

It's no wonder that some of our views make us look like "Ugly Americans." We tend to forget that we're not the center of the universe. We can't close ourselves off to the rest of the world like some other countries have tried to do in history. China comes to mind.

At any rate, I hope you take this in the way it was meant. To enlighten and educate.

Give me a break. Enough of all this BS. I too am tired of all this politically correct crap. It's OK for any race to call themselves what they want, but not OK for anyone else to use the same term?
This is complete garbage. African Americans call themselves the "n" word all the time. Ooooh, shhhhh better keep that down low and not let anyone hear it. Up until a fews years there was never such an uproar. Heck, say it at all nowadays and you are a racist.
Pretty soon well have the "j" word for the Japanese, the "w" word for the Italians, the "c" word for the Canadians, etc.etc.
Why don't all you complainers just shut the hell up and live on, rather than living on crying about anything someone says or does that you think is offensive. Don't you have anything else to do?

Since this thread has NOTHING at all to do with trucks anymore and it has already crossed the line of good taste is some people's eyes, it is being closed. If you want to continue this political discussion, please do so on another site. It is not appropriate for F150online.
