As of right now, of the 108 posts on this thread (including this one), 21 are yours, Rand. You have posted your view on this thread more than anyone else (the next closest is Oil Man at 11 times, msparks at 11 times, and RandyW at 8 times). That's 19.4% if you'd like that translated into numbers. With the exception of the posts that you've immaturely elected to edit, nearly every one of them has contained references to your educational background along with misguided and ignorant insults directed at those who've chosen a contradictory view to yours.

And yet, only msparks makes any attempt to answer or comment the 'easy' questions I ask.. Back to the topic or close the thread down..

This thread needed to be closed almost as soon as Rand started off on his tear about his level of education and income.

SimonG,
Myself and others on this thread have tried to help you with your question, and have put a lot of work into each post to make the technical info as readable and easy to understand without being too technical and loosing guys along the way. I for one would like to see other questions that we might be able to help with instead of reading the bashing that has happened lately.

Lets try and get back on track please.
Thank you,
Kevin

This thread got off track fairly early on, somewhere back on the first page. It's been mostly Rand's "I'm good looking, I'm educated, I'm wealthy, and everybody else is dumber than me" bull session as of late. Remember, if you disagree with Rand, it's because of your lack of education. He makes a good living as an SW engineer and doggone it, he's right. He's a legend in his own mind. If you don't believe me, just ask him. There've been mechanics post on this thread (and others) with their thoughts and if Rand doesn't like what they have to say, it's BECAUSE THEY'RE STUPID AND HAVE NO EDUCATION. This is all new logic to me; I had always thought differences in OPINION didn't reflect your intellect (or lack of it, according to Rand). If someone jumps on Rand and gives him a shot of his own medicine, he can't take it and deletes as much of his posts as possible. No fun being ridiculed, huh Rand? The individual who originated this topic has long ago abandoned posting to it while Rand has posted on and and on and on and on. Rand made an earlier statement that he was not going to spend his time trying to convince the disbelievers, yet what has he been doing? Trying to drum up support for "How to Win Friends and Influence People?"

Oilman
I do indeed appreciate all the information that you and others have shared.
I check this thread often to see what other information has been contributed.

Personally I use Mobil 1. LE or Amsoil are not available in my area. My decision to start using Mobil 1 was largely due to the positive remarks on this board. While I do not believe that Mobil 1 is some kind of magic pill that will prolong engine life, I do not doubt that it will keep my engine running better, longer.
I could hear and feel the difference, when I switched to synth. It must be doing a better job than the Motorcraft oil I'd been using before. If synthetic oil is just a littttle bit better, in the long run it will make a big difference. But even though I can plain as day tell that synthetic is better for MY engine, the lack of information, aside from manufacturers hype, is disturbing.
Oncw again thank you, notably Oilman and msparks for all you have shared.
