Just for the record (feel I have to say this, now that I'm driving a slow, underpowered '91 F-150)...

I had (HAD) a '98 Ranger at one time... 0-60 in 7 seconds flat with 4.0L engine, 3.55 limslip, Superchip, and manual tranny. I never lost a race to any truck--including numerous Chevy 350s and 454s (never found a 454ss.) 7 seconds is still faster than any fullsize I've ever test driven, manual or automatic. Weight...

Still not sports car fast, but we're talking trucks...

Wish I'd had that truck tonight... This 302 has no kahunas...

And never underestimate what a 4.0L Ranger downshifting from 4th to 3rd at 55 mph can do, either...

Torque heaven!!!! 55 to engine cutback (about 97mph) in no time flat!

Yee-haw!

Nickster, Don't worry about it, my wife calls out "hey stupid" when it's time to eat! My set is a Tama Maple Star Classic W/DW 5000 Dbl pedel, Zildjian with a combo of Tama and Pearl Uni-lok stands. Everthings hung on the Starcast mounting system. Now you know you have to tell me what you got then we need to get of this thread B-4 we get hate mail.

Rob, I have a 6pc. set of Pearl Export Selects (Red). Sabian 14" hats, 16", 18", 14" thin, 14"studio, 10" paiste splash, Ziljian 22" ride. Don't have the dbl.bass, but I'm dying to try one (probably takes a little getting used to though). I also have an extra 13" piccolo snare (slingerland) but it just doesn't project enough sound so I don't use it too often. I use the Easton ahead sticks (couldn't keep a wooden pair of 5A's for more than a couple of weeks). They took a little getting used to but I really like 'em now. I've had them for about a year and a half a they're still on the original sleeves. My opinion (good sticks).

I filled up with Shell 87 Octane the other day...drove until the truck was just above half a tank..and tried one more 0-60 test.

ONLY 8.4 seconds on Shell..PATHETIC!!! My times are going *up* with the darn fuel prices!!

Oh well...the superchip should be on the way soon!

Dustoff,

I sent you mail. BTW, Did I tell you I have the 300hp version of the 4.6l yet? https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif

Dustoff 03-04-2000 06:43 PM

Yes...and you are FULL OF **** ! hahahaah!!!

I just checked my e-mail...you are *correct* in your assumption!

I'll give ya the 'FAST'er tittle when I run Shell!! When I had my 98 5.4L..The Shell fuel use to provide a noticeable 'seat of the pants' power difference..but that was Premium fuel.

And did I forget to mention that the 2000 F150s with black paint running the 5.4l come with the old 235hp version of the 5.4?
