Let me state the facts here again:

You obviously did not buy the lightning, so that was not your concern with the truck (0-60 times). you know it is slow in comparison to a mustang, so why even bother. Use a truck to haul loads no a$$.

Pretty simple. Sometimes a good dose of reality needs to be said by someone. it is a truck not a drag racing machine. You already stated "As far as shi*y fart tipped hondas are concerned. I wouldn't waste my gas racing one in the mustang much less in my truck. "

So I ask you this question then, What or better yet Why are you even worried about drag racing on the street?


Thanks. YOu have not seen the paint job. Dont ask for me to remove the bra. 10 foot paint job, not the primary concern so far.

 

Okay my last attempt to clear this up.

I was only curious how fast or slow this truck is?

I was only joking around when I said I was wondering what I could beat?

Do you really not think in retrospect your comments were a bit harsh?

Is it so bad for an owner to just be curious what his vehicle is capable of?

This truck will soon be my Wife's when we get married. This is the only reason I bought it. She really liked it and that is what she got. I have my mustang to drive or I may trade it in on a newer one in 2004 or get an L.

My truck might do high 9's.
Best guess today was around 9.5.
It made some serious pinging/clicking at high rpms so I might
have to research some posts about similar probs!!!

I just modded the airbox (by basically removing it) and having
the K&N "free".

 

definately a clean pony look. Pony wheels and all. I see you got the police blue hoses and the C&L 76mm setup there. FMS wires, K&N sticker has to go IMHO. you need to hide the wires behind the fenders to clean up that engine bay also.

Yes... Brakes are horrible. K&N was put on by my uncle back when he bought it new. I have stopped doing anything to the mustang for now. I am thinking of selling it for a new one, but I really don't like the new bodystyle that much. I have also thought about picking up a clean 93 cobra. Who knows.

 

wow, you guys have some really nice mustangs! matt, i absolutely love your car, dude! 02XLT, that is one sweet (and clean) ride you got there! i have thought many times about selling my truck and buying a nice fox body in decent shape, but it took me 3 years to restore my truck back into good shape, and i would hate to see it go after all that work (and $$$), plus you never really know what youre getting yourself into when u buy a used car. although a 5.0 stang would be nice. dammit, i need to win the lottery or something! nice cars guys!

 

All I have to say is if you see a black F150 Sport, you better not try to race it. I have an air filter..... Just Joking !!!

That was truly uncalled for. He wanted to know what his 0-60 would be, not to be told "Dont race it, get this, get that".

It's pretty obvious Matt doesn't understand the practical need for 0-60 times. 0-60 times are listed for every truck and car sold in the US by every magazine that tests the performance of vehicles and for good reason. If he can't figure out the reason, I'm not going to be the one to educate him. Well, maybe I'll give a big hint. Freeway onramps.

BTW, why can't he resize his pics so they're not so big that it requires scrolling of the screen?

I do haul things in my truck, but I also like to haul a** when I have too, esp. when I meet people like you, who think just because I have a truck, that the truck is going to be slow. Yeah a mustang might beat me, but it wont be by much. My truck is not a lighting, but close enough.
